He has bent over backwards trying to get her to worry about her safety and the consequence of her actions and the first time he sees her lose composure and worry about something it's him. 😊

It's sort of happening already. She is playing in their game of thrones against King Cheng already. In the novel, there is a clear distinction because they have separate villains but because they merged the villains, she has been directly been fighting his battles while in the novel it was indirect till the final arc

No one realises her identity unless she specifically tells them because she is actually Jiang Li. No matter how suspicious she is or acts, she is actually Jiang Li, so there is nothing to figure out.

The Jiang family didn't usurp but the Emperor reshuffled his cabinet after and they didn't make the cut. In the novel XFF revenge is separate from the war. King Cheng was her big villain but XH had his villian- the Royal uncle (they've merged these characters in the drama). They are engaged by the war but not married 🤔 I think.
Anyway XFF revenge ends after getting rid of the step mother and the cheaters, after that she is XH ride or die

My pitch for Female Star General- He Yan jnr is a spoiled pretty girl till she gets put down when her "beloved" marries someone else. She throws herself in the river to commit suicide but is saved by He Yan snr, who takes her under her wings. She travels with He Yan snr's batallion and becomes aware of He Yan's secret as she is so close to HY snr everyone assumes they are an item. She keeps HY military book and is told about her childhood and military exploits, when HY goes to get married but within 3 months of separation He Yan becomes blind and dies. She's suspicious and even moreso when an attempt is made on her life, so she gender blends like her mentor and escapes to the military. 👩‍🏫

She never regains her XFF identity. She marries XH as JL although he knows who she really is. She remains estranged from the Jiang family who retire from the capital following the attempts at usurping the throne which shook the court. The Xue father and son stay in the capital (I think 🤔) in the Ye Shijie and Ye 3rd Uncle residence.

The hardest thing with the adaptations is dealing with the Transmigration ban. With He Yan, I think they can say she served under He Yan snr after she got dumped and ran away and knew her secret, so she's avenging her death or something. But with Shen Miao how will they handle her out of character viciousness and foresight.

I agree completely. While I might enjoy seeing the characters have intimacy before marriage, at the end of the day it reduces my respect for them, considering the era they are based in.
If they have no proprietary or self control it takes them down a notch in my books. For example: SOKP- the CP can ast like that because they were both raised badly- fl by a "wicked concubine that switched her and an uncaring birth mother whilst the ml- by a traitorous paycho uncle.
I don't think XH and XFF/JL can be excused unless under the influence and I would expect better from the Duke. (I would eat it up if it happened 😍 but I'd be disappointed)

In ancient times, picking up someone's fallen handkerchief was a major flirting move. Shen Yu Rong, a top scorer and married man, picked up a hankie in the palace and some of you believe it was innocent 😐
