My criticism of Fang fei stems from her disregard for Jaing Li's reputation for her personal vendetta. I understand why it's happening and applaud it for happening from a storytelling POV because it shows the toll "playing this game" is having on her, a 19 year old. But that does not excuse her, in the same way Princess Wanning, who is also quite young (~21 years old), is not excused

Facing criticism when you make a mistake is what keeps you humane. Acknowledging your wrong and taking steps to change are what make you a "good" person. The Duke chastises her and she acknowledges and repents. Fang fei= a good person; flawed but ultimately good. Fang fei chastises SYR, he diverts and blames circumstances and asks her to give up seeking justice. SYR= bad person; persecuted but ultimately bad.
