Rating on MDL has always been emotionally motivated from my observation, so if so many people are enjoying it then the rating will be high even with technical issues or poor action scenes.
Ratings are averages some people love it and some, maybe like you not as much. My rating is currently below the average and I'm enjoying it immensely.

Most children voices sound alike, the child's mother was in on the scam and the father is clearly oblivious and seems to believe everything. Everybody else were just watching to see what happens next, if the child's two parents say it'sher voice how could they object.

They prefer translating their names instead of titles. It's not a mistake, its deliberately done. Their translation style is not direct translation but translation to make it easier to follow.
Some nuance is lost because the choice of title or name speaks to the relationships and hierarchies but it might be too complex for casual watchers who can barely remember everyone's names, let alone who is 1st uncle, second prince, 3rd brother; when these titles change according to which two characters are talking to each other and under what setting.

The thing about adapting novels; it like a selling a product that has already proven to be successful. A successful novel has proven: the plot is good, the characters are interesting, the story is compelling plus the added benefit of all the internal monologue of the characters, so the actors have even more direction for their performances.
All that's left is casting pretty faces and getting directors that can bring the story to life.
It makes the work of drama making alot easier. The trade off is ready-made critics constantly saying "it was better in the book"
