There are thousands of bots rating dramas on Douban and it is well known that the platform will delete negative ratings if the production team pays the âprotection feeâ. Weibo recently closed hundreds of bot accounts and all the streaming platforms have their own system of watering the viewing figures because thatâs how they sell advertising. The only thing that actually will make a drama endure through time is quality. Sadly, based on the look & sound of the New Yearâs clip, Iâm now afraid we wonât be getting much of it.

The translation said âXu Youre as Lu Jinxiuâ the characters used for the real name may be wrong as I searched for the actress with these characters and couldnât find her. @kokuto in the comment above suggested another name which looks plausible. I recognised the first character as âXuâ. They probably said itâs Madam Gantang because thatâs who they expected to appear. You cannot trust anything on X. đ

He was in the CNY clip for Blossoms of Power and frankly, I would have preferred him to be missing. The sound and lighting feel like theyâve recorded it in someoneâs basement. A very shoddy job!

He filmed until late into the night on his first days on set and after that probably rushed straight back home to be with his family.
