Y'all stop accusing this drama as replacement or stealing schedule, it's expected to be broadcast this may as…
The only ones who should be blamed for SKOP not airing are the people responsible for the ridiculous collective punishment rules of the Chinese entertainment industry. One actor sneezes in the wrong direction and the whole production gets canned - what kind of deranged logic is that? I had BOR on my watch-list for a long time (side-by-side with SKOP) and if it's good I will enjoy watching it without any regrets.
LOL! I don+t know why I'm such a sucker for this kind of stories, but I'm... so, I'm gonna give it a try. I like…
Yes, I like shorts, too. They also seem to get away with a lot more "daring" things than the full-length dramas. Hence my frustration about yet another short with this transmigration BS. It's a completely nonsensical trope that is currently overused and almost never done in a coherent way.
According to my iQiyi dictionary, "technical difficulties" is the same as "cancelled". Their last drama with "technical…
It's about time China stepped away from collective punishment. Cancelling a production that dozens of people invested time and money in just because of one person is exactly that. In costume dramas they kill the entire clan if one of them steps out of line, and here the clan has been replaced by the production team. So decades after the revolution, feudalism is still alive and well. If the actor has broken any rules, he alone should bear the consequences.
The rating dropped suddenly to junk level? That is really uncalled for... I've seen dramas with plotholes the size of a small country score an 8+ rating for no other reason than a few pretty boys.
What ep are you now? I am contemplating whether.to start it π because I don't want to be stressed out haha…
I'm probably a robot (without knowing it)... I'm on ep. 27 of TTEOTM and so far I haven't shed a single tear. Normally I can cry buckets-full over Xianxia dramas, but somehow not this one. I love and admire LYX's acting, so either I was concentrating too much on the acting or the story just isn't that emotionally engaging to me.
Finished ep6, almost put me to sleep (again). You've promised me the dynamics changes after ep6 and I'll hold…
This drama is more about the visuals and the atmosphere it creates. The story it tells isn't action-driven as in most other dramas, especially crime stories. There are also long shots without any dialogue and if you're waiting for whats going to happen next rather than enjoying the light-dark contrast of the architecture or the artistic way some scenes are shot you might get bored and fall asleep. I don't think it's the hypnosis π I fell asleep twice watching The Ingenious One... it doesn't say anything about the drama, it just means that I was tired...
Just in case you were wondering what this is about, here's the the summary from Douban (MTL):
Yingwei Jinhua helped her beloved second prince Nan Gongyi win the throne and suffered all kinds of hardships, but in the end she was betrayed by her lover and died tragically. Before she died, she recalled that her true identity was Shen Changge, the daughter of the Taifu, and was reborn at a turning point in fate. In this life, Shen Changge relied on her wisdom to avoid being stabbed in the back, and at the same time let everyone who hurt her feel the pain of losing everything, but she never thought that Mu Heng, the son of Changping Prince, would appear in her life frequently. heart turmoil...
So yet another one of those dreadful transmigration/reborn for do-over stories. Those scriptwriters need to go on a creative retreat, badly!
Sometimes people (who aren't even watching the show) rate episodes before they are aired. The system on MDL doesn't…
I have a very simple rule to make sense of the rating: if there are any idol type pretty boys in the cast, it's probably overrated by at least 5 points. If the main cast has mainly grown-ups, then the drama is probably underrated.
So far I've watched five episodes of this and while they are quite pleasant to watch, if anyone asked me what this drama is about, I couldn't even answer. It feels as if there is no plotline that I could see but instead just random things happen. Since I have no idea what any of the main characters want (or who they really are), I find it very hard to root for any of them. After the first few episodes the martial arts action seems to also have been replaced by endless talk and the ML looking intense for no reason so it's not what I would have expected from a wuxia-labelled drama. Will it get better any time soon?

I hope there won't be too much of this in BFTB...
