The ML getting injured again and again bc his power is sealed, his father is truly so dumb I can't anymore tbh!!!
It seems to be a common feature of C-dramas that the emperor is always either dumb and oblivious to what is going on or power-hungry and corrupt. I think the only exception I have seen so far is the one in Royal Rumors who truly is one in a million.
Yeah, i was expecting more dramatic reaction of other principles too. Unfortunately, it didnt show it. And also…
Sadly, I think your expectations are out of the actress's range. She seems to have the same depressed facial expression all the time… It was the same in the previous dramas that I have seen with her.
why the the drama not yet rated its really good drama
I quite like the fact that it isn’t rated yet. Some people rate dramas after watching just one episode (or even none at all) and it’s not fair to anyone.
I’m having some trouble with him as well… every time I see those ears flashing out from under the wig I get…
We clearly have a very different picture of cute 😂😂😂 The best I can hope for is that I will enjoy his acting. I’d prefer an ‘elf’ who can act rather than a pretty boy who can’t.
I’m having some trouble with him as well… every time I see those ears flashing out from under the wig I get a flashback to Middlearth 😂 Then I have to remind myself that there are no elves in this one 🧝♂️
The story is quite good, though, so I keep watching…
its a decent show that takes itself seriously but its not that engaging and the leads' relationship feels so empty…
Yes, the villain was so white-washed that it was disappointing. Somehow I don’t think the ex-cop who turned into a vigilante because he considers the justice system inadequate as described in the novel would have passed censorship…
Yes, it’s slowly getting interesting, but the annoying girl with her same antiques in every single episode is…
Yes, TMOPB had a good ending, but it wasn’t done by this director. So far I have seen two dramas by the director of this one: The Untamed - open ending, and Dance of the Phoenix - confusing as hell, sh*t ending. Hence my apprehension…

It’s possible, she’s definitely not as nice as she appears (but at least she isn’t annoying). If your theory is correct, then this starts to sound very much like Dance of the Phoenix, which is by the same director. I hope this time he can come up with a better ending!
I wonder if JJY does her own makeup. She has the same look in all her historical dramas: that look being light…
Whoever does it should find another job. In every drama she looks like she’s in desperate need of a hot meal and about a week of sleep. This is Xiaoxia, even a long-suffering character doesn’t need to look that way! Just look at Bai Lu still looking so radiant after spitting buckets of blood in TTEOTM. 😂Maybe she could help with some advice…
Well, given that the details of the role were known from the start maybe the director should have cast someone who can meet the requirements rather than relying on props. Also, most actors who take such roles keep fit ‘just in case’ so they can lose their shirt anytime.’ If he doesn’t have time to do this, maybe stick to roles that don’t require more than he can offer. That’s what I consider professional integrity.
To be honest, I hate seeing Jeremy tsui playing supporting roles/ second male leads! I thought it had ended years…
Yes, same here… He doesn’t make it easy to be a fan. I know that he prefers to enjoy life rather than work hard and in a way I applaud him because I am the same, but as a fan I’m like”C’mon man, give us something!”
I don’t know how he makes his decisions for a project, some recent choices have been rather bad. You know which one I mean… He’s been in the business for quite a long time, maybe he’s just frustrated about being paired with these little girlies who can’t act and then being insulted as a dirty old man by some crazy netizens.
Who knows, maybe the script is good and he will be able to steal the show as the antagonist, like in Legend of Dugu…
The novel readers can you tell me who marries the Ml in heaven in the scenes which are shown on each episode?…
Don’t put too much trust into those teasers in the opening/closing credits. Sometimes they just show “shocking” scenes there - like a marriage btw. the “wrong” people to keep people engaged. And in the drama it’s only a planned wedding that gets stopped halfway…

I watched Under the Power (yes, all 55 episodes!) and it was ok because he was supposed to be this stony-faced commander., which I think is a type of role that suits him. Love a Lifetime was an interesting story, so I watched that as well, but found the SML much more interesting. The one he really spoilt for me was The Blue Whisper. I gave up after the third attempt. Not only did he have zero emotional subtlety or chemistry with the FL, but he also didn’t look anything like the character in the book. It was a total mis-cast in my view.
I just came here after a few days after finishing, I was really hoping the rating would go up. But nothing happened…
Of course you can find many ways to explain/excuse his actions, but it doesn’t change the fact that his behaviour makes him a thoroughly unlikeable character.
It’s not really about the kisses, but the fake kisses (and the fake abs) show a lack of professional attitude. Either you do what it takes for the role or you step aside and leave it to someone who is willing to do what is required. To me he just comes across like a spoilt boy who wants everything but isn’t prepared to make any effort.

Having seen a few of Allen Ren’s dramas, I not too impressed with his acting or his professional attitude. It will be tough to suffer through another one of his dramas just to see a bit of Jeremy. Just like you, I had also hoped support role days were over. He deserves so much better!
In fact, the male lead impressed me a little because from the trailers I didn't notice him, he looked like a little…
I’ll just wait and see…He certainly doesn’t qualify as eye-candy, so maybe for once they hired an ML based on acting ability. That would truly be impressive!

Why do scriptwriters always think because it’s xianxia logic no longer applies?
