The director has to find ways to let the audience see these things. Some scenes are fine on paper but would be very boring to watch because they are too static.

Many dramas file for 40 episodes to have some flexibility even if they are only planning on having 30 (which sometimes leads to rumours about “cut episodes”). I don’t know how many they filed for for this drama. Anyways, the final number of episodes will only be determined in post production and then they still have to get through the review.

There definitely wasn’t any rabbit hunting in the novel. Maybe it’s a flashback to her time before meeting XQS, when she had to live rough. Her clothing also points in that direction.
