Isn’t everyone entitled to their opinion? Calling somebody a terrible actor (there are so many of those around!)…
Agreed!

It’s simply a call for tolerance. I am sick and tired of all the overly sensitive people and the fanatics that will start fan wars over one comment.
In that sense it applies to all dramas and no drama in particular.
Let’s watch out favourites in peace!
Cast list as posted on the official Weibo account of the drama:

Director: Bai Shan

Leading actors: Chen Weiting, Zeng Shunxi

Leading actor: Chen Yao

Starring: Ying Haoming, Wang Yiting

Special guest starring: Wang Jinsong, Li Naiwen

Special starring: Shi Xiaolong, Yu Hao

Friendly appearance: Xu Zhengxi, Ji Xiaobing

I've been looking forward for this wuxia drama but why do i see a lot of melon eaters that Wang Anyu is reconsidering…
I saw some melons saying that his team is reassessing the risk. To be honest, I can understand him being cautious. Nobody wants to pour their blood and sweat into a project only for it to never see the light of day because of another cast member. There are already too many of such dramas locked somewhere in the basement.

I don’t thing Ding Yuxi has accepted this yet. The ML role seems to have been turned down by a lot of people,…
I’ve seen the melons regarding this drama coming up with new ML names every other week, so I don’t believe anything until there is an announcement.
I can understand DYX’s fans. There must be a reason why so many potential MLs have turned this down. Of course a good screenwriter could make something of this, but they are more rare than gold dust. Most of them just string together a series of the usual tropes, especially for xianxia.

Oh dear, this plot feels like we’ve seen this a thousand times already!
Can the screenwriters please stop copying each other’s homework and come up with a few original ideas?
I really feel sorry for the actors’ wasted efforts in flogging this dead horse.

Person Jeremy Xu
Any of his performances are worth watching, however, often the overall quality of the dramas is somewhat lacking,…
That is correct. I didn’t say that they were ALL rookie actresses, but his FLs in Novoland, Be My Princess, Journey of Chongzi and Yongan Dream were and it clearly shows.
He wasn’t the ML in Love of Nirvana, so I don’t even consider Li Landi “his” FL. His role was so badly distorted (compared to the novel) with his best lines and even scenes that were filmed cut out, that I would not recommend watching this drama to anyone.

Life is hard for nice guys in the entertainment industry. I hope for him that all these favours will be repaid one day.

A Xianxia drama without romance? This is rare
It is refreshing! Let the people who need romance in everything continue to watch romance dramas

Has he returned to acting?
Yes, he is officially back since September last year, but he only started working again at the beginning of this year. Since then he has been busy… So far he filmed:
- A cameo in Southern Anecdote (uncredited, therefore I cannot update it in the list)
- A special guest role in Blossoms of Power
- A guest role in Shadow Punisher (filming still ongoing)
- A cameo (I presume) in The Treasured Bajia Book (so far 1 day, I don’t know if there will be more)
Even though the role in Blossoms of Power was quite extensive, officially, he is only doing guest appearances at the moment. I suspect there is a (contractual) reason for that.
My guess is that he will return to “normal” roles once his contract situation is sorted out, probably next year.
His next on-screen appearance will most likely be in Whispers of Fate which is expected to be broadcast a5 the end of October 2025.

What do you think, if we say Shui Long Yin three times in a row, will it get broadcast sooner?

I don’t thing Ding Yuxi has accepted this yet. The ML role seems to have been turned down by a lot of people, why would he take what so many others don’t want? He’s not that desperate. The buzz is that the role is badly written…

What’s wrong with you all? Why is someone here attacking Chen Feiyu’s drama while it’s currently airing?…
Isn’t everyone entitled to their opinion? Calling somebody a terrible actor (there are so many of those around!) doesn’t make anyone a “hater”. This term is used far too liberally these days as tolerance for different opinions is disappearing from people’s minds.

I think the biggest game changer on a general level would be to require all leads (whether solo or double) to…
I have only seen some articles about it on English-language sites. I tend to believe that it is genuine. It was also said that the ban of any actor starring in such dramas will only apply to new productions, not the ones that have already been filmed.
This may be the reaction to the BL frenzy which turns any actor in such dramas into a pop star overnight, no matter whether they’re any good or not.
Personally, I find it quite annoying how the BL-league are trying to turn any instance of two guys meeting up for a coffee into “censored BL-content”. So, as sad as I am for some of the truly good BL-dramas and novels, I have to say that they brought it upon themselves.

I also saw that one! I think some actors are bound to a platform, probably through their agencies, and then can only do projects with them. This new joint pool of actors would give these people more freedom and a better choice of roles.

Yes, in the copy of the new Tencent rules that is going around the internet it says the following:
“The casting process must be transparent, and each production must have a written casting record. For roles in productions with more than 20 scenes, the platform must be involved. (Note: Prevent production companies from pushing their own actors; the platform must build its own actor ecosystem.)”
