The episode of Laugh Together to be recorded on 14th August will have several cast members beside the Fl/ML.
Flight guests: Meng Ziyi, He Yu, Xu Zhengxi, Fan Shuaiqi, Lai Weiming, Lin Ziye

It’s not really a guest role in the usual sense. They phrased it as “special guest starring” in the announcement. It means that he is cast outside the billing order but the scope of his role can be larger than that of a normal guest appearance. By my calculation, he was present on about 40% of the total filming days which should result in a sizable amount of screen time, but of course, the end result depends on the editing.

The episode to be recorded on 14th August will have the cast of Blossoms of Power as invites:
Flying guests: Meng Ziyi, He Yu, Xu Zhengxi, Fan Shuaiqi, Lai Weiming, Lin Ziye

That was only temporary. The whole thing was due to problems with his agency (although the official reason is now his father’s sickness). I think he found a compromise with the agency which seems to be that he will continue his contract until the end and they will stop forcing him to act in shitty dramas. He already announced his official comeback in September last year, but he only started filming again this year.

A brief update on Jeremy’s work to date (05/08/2025):
Blossoms of Power will wrap filming on 07/08/2025. By my calculations Jeremy worked on about 43% of the total filming period, so it will definitely be more than just a small guest appearance.
Yesterday, Jeremy joined the crew of Shadow Punisher (Luo Yunxi’s new drama). So far there has been no confirmation about the scope of the role from either side. The role seems to be that of the ML’s brother.
While this is still not the ML role that we are all hoping for, it I looks like a good role (no 3rd wheel situation or cheesy romance) in a prestigious production (S+ level).
I have a feeling that until the contract with his agency ends (hopefully next year) Jeremy will do nothing but guest appearances. Maybe it is his subtle way of getting back at them (they make a lot less money with guest roles) while still getting exposure and making useful contacts.

Yes, he’s been served a dirty deal by his agency, but hopefully the contract will end next year. And then he can use the momentum from his guest roles (which look all quite good) for good projects in the future. After the escalation of the dispute with the agency last year and his “sabbatical” he seems to now rely entirely on his own resources to get roles. I think the fact that he has been doing nothing but guest appearances since is his way of getting back at them. They need the money more than he does 😂

Oh, that’s interesting! I didn’t know that. I only know that he fought tooth and nail for the role as his shitty agency didn’t want him to take it (they don’t make so much money with a guest role and that’s all they care about).
Hopefully it will be as groundbreaking as you say 🙏

Who knows, maybe he will be to some extend. He was very proud of his Ghost Peony role.
However, he doesn’t seem to like these kinds of promotional events so much whereas Leo is like a fish in water on stage. I wish some of it could rub off on Jeremy (maybe during all those hugs 😂). Even though he has both the looks and the skills he isn’t very good at promoting himself.
