This only wrapped about two months ago, you can expect five to six months for post production at the least. It isn’t unusual that there are no further news/releases during this period.

I hope he will manage to get out of there soon and take full control over his career. I saw some info that he is in the same agency as Allen Ren and Cheng Yi, but the agency seems to favour AR who is getting all the big budget roles and promotion, even though out of the three, Lui Yuexi is by far the most capable actor. It seems that the agency isn’t too thrilled about him attracting too many dark roles, even though from an acting perspective they usually are the more interesting roles.

One simple word to answer that question: greed! Pimping out your talented actor to idol dramas with talentless but popular FLs makes more money in the short term, than carefully choosing good roles to build his career. In the entertainment business it’s the same as everywhere else, as soon as money is involved, ethics go out of the window.
