How is this comparing to "Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty"?
Itās more of a one-man show, so no bickering bromance. The detective has helpers, but itās not the same. The women have a more prominent role and the romance feels less like a superfluous add-on. The cases are good, quite unpredictable and there are some greater mysteries running through the whole drama. The acting is very good and there are some really good fight scenes as well (more than in Strange Tales).

There is something very, very off with the MDL rating system. One show Iām watching has 9+ rating on every single episode that has aired and the overall score is still just a bit over 8. I think itās best to just ignore the rating and read the comments to form an opinion.

She doesnāt have that many scenes, fortunately, but when sheās on the screen, expect to be irritated. In ep. 13 I was yelling for someone to slap her, but sadly no one seemed to hear me.

As we all know, in every C-drama these things have a way of getting out. The result will be even worse than just telling her the truth. Iām only on ep. 19 so far, but reading all these little reveals gives me the impression that this drama is heading straight for a wall. There is no way the FL could ever have a Happy End with the ML unless the scriptwriters give her amnesia or a lobotomy.
Itās a sad testimony to the state of C-dramas that I even have to point this out as something noteworthy.
