Translation missed a funny mistake from SeokJin’s mother during that lunch. There are two words in Korean to say fish and she didn’t use the one for food but for pet. They missed an easy one … That grandmother is so rude and she is gonna be just like until the end. I don’t believe in growth for people like that and that old. In real life she wouldn’t set a foot in that cafe’. There was an article in Korea Herald about how seniors in Korea felt excluded from all those new cute, trendy, Instagramable places when they have 눈치 they don’t behave like that. It sounded that but if the seniors behave like for sure owners don’t want them
That picture doesn’t look like her but after a few cross-checking it’s really her. The photo was on her Instagram. It might had been a weird shooting as it looks so different from the pictures she posted before and after…. Her signature dimples are less visible too, her features ares slightly less soft…maybe she had some filler…she is working much those last years and a marriage isn’t going to help.
That adoption scene was awful. Even to get a puppy it is done with more dignity and care. 7 years is already so old ..:of course Milan has became a psychopath. Adding trauma on trauma good recipe for a breakdown. I sincerely hope adoption doesn’t work like that in Korea and people go and grab a child without any kind of checking or time for reflection .
So I just left a 30-year King YeongJo on his mother Sukbin (DongYi)’s grave and now I have to deal with a much older king that menaces to abdicate every year… I set myself on a crazy 161-hour journey: watching back to back Dong Yi- Secret Door and Yi San… I don’t know if I can manage this challengebut let’s see! I’ve already seen the Red Sleeve but I anm not certain I ever watched Lee San so let get like 100 years of Korean history in one serving! Secret door was never on my watchlist as once I have already seen The Throne 8 years ago and it was hard and two it looks very political and male centric but it has also two of my favourite Korean actresses so I am still curious mostly I want to connect the dot between all Joseon Royals. But as I fear this drama focus too much on the never-ending father/son feud and ministers plotting. I am afraid it might be more enjoyable for people who don’t already know the story of Prince Sado. Park Eun Bin was amazing and Kim YouJung too I wish they had more screen time. I wasn’t a big fan of King Yeong Jo representing he didn’t look rationalthe genius side mentioned in DongYi were there anymore. Towards the end I realized that I had already seen part of the drama… Overall for old dramas I feel like MBC sageuks are more human and warm than those that aired on SBS or KBS.
I understood what you meant, but I realize the Korean title wasn’t what I thought. I am on my phone it’s quite small and I had my mind fixed on 사장 (boss) but it’s 사원 (employee). So yeah you were right they did a creative work for the English title and buckled it with the storyline
Korean’s logic…that makes me even more bananas in period pieces as the windows are made with paper and houses…
I feel they let themselves die something. Facing fear they mostly portray one unique reaction: freeze. But they are other possible options fight, fawn, flight..:and science doesn’t that freeze is more current or response to a stronger fear.
I really think it should have been Sa Bin and Yeong Ju as the main roles and Ji Ni and Ji Hu as support roles.…
The beginning was looking like Melo they used to do early 2010-2013 just with a daily airing but as viewership was below previous dramas (makjangs) of that slot they keep adding comedy and more extreme extreme plots Very true Jini isn’t in the center of this drama it’s evolve more around the 2 mothers, Seri and YeongJu they have more screen time than her.
You need to watch live your own life you gonna get an heart attack. They are way worst
I think about the mother from Something in the rain and my heart starts beating faster, she literally gave me anxiety through the screen I cannot watch it again solely due to her 😂
What was that all about? Instead of breaking glass to open the door you'd rather stay in the bathroom the whole…
Korean’s logic…that makes me even more bananas in period pieces as the windows are made with paper and houses have just one floor but nobody never escapes by the window It mights be the fear of destructing the set, too expensive 😂😂😂
I hate when I'm watching a drama, and I can tell it had a very good core script, but was then watered down to…
I feel like they start to adapt too many webtoons instead of original scripts and the writing quality has seriously decreased and too many stories where as you said they just tick boxes to include as much trope, cliches possible
They missed an easy one …
