His take on acting is peculiar, I don’t think you can act without bringing something from within into the character. It’s why acting it’s hard, exhausting, can reopen wounds and make you feel exposed. When there is nothing genuine the acting is bad and visually it’s blatant. Without going full method acting the first thing is to find common ground with the part, where you can rely on your own emotions, your past or current experiences and what differs and how you can understand where your character is coming from. Chinese actors being dubbed by others when voices carry such a bit part of emotions and authenticity is an issue. It does create a disconnect between the movement, the face and the voice when all of those should be in sync. The second category of actors that he mentioned are people that go on screen and don’t care about the part, psychology, experiences, what they should bring to the table, don’t understand it and just show themselves as they are. You never see the parts but them in different settings.
Actors should be canvas. Acting by just playing yourself is it really acting?
I don’t think so. Or at least it’s just the definition of limited and bad acting.

There are different level of blindness some manage to be autonomous and walk with a cane, others use a service dog…
Some are born blind and have never seen anything, some manage to perceive light and some shapes, some become blind after disease or accident…it the reason why we should say visually impaired as they are multiple cases
For the planetarium I believe they shot in the middle of the night so the site could keep business as usual during the day. And they saved money by not hiring stunts …2014 it was the early day of Netflix in Korea, Korean were capable to produce a lot with reasonable budgets.

We can see evolution of kdramas since TvN and jTBC arrived early 2010 and mi-2010 adding action, thriller, medical, legal…genres that traditional Korean networks such as KBS, SBS and MBC did not really cover prior. Content shift also from family-centric and romance to a broader spectrum. By expending to middle-east, Africa and south-America content did also become more conservative. TvN at its launch was such a bowl of fresh air, describing a moderner side of Korea… Americans since mostly Disney’s interest in kdramas (around 2018), when also kdramas became leader in Asia are pushing very hard, making major investments and big attempts to control production companies as they have lost in image and market shares. I cannot remember which American network managed two years ago to become shareholder of CJ group, probably Warner. Solely KBS and
MBC are stated funded other major networks aren’t. Government has a limited control over SBS. I personally see many
American influence on scripts. I saw a very interest POV the other day on deception over Demon hunters’ Oscar and Grammy in Korea. Yeah productions for now manage to get many revenue from product placements but when you look at viewership in Korea dramas are less and less performant domestically so those production companies all want the international viewers and other stream of revenues to insurance sustainability. There are not as independent as many want to believe. I don’t know how long they can resist to American roller coaster or even if they want.

I am not sure it’s a good news. I don’t want kdrama to be become like us tv, procedurals with 55 seasons. I like to follow a cast for a limited time period and then move on to new universe, with a new on a new stories.
I hope they would not do it to push a mediocre romance between the leads. Not all drama need romance. Hope they would enhance if they do another season the cases they weren’t very strong.
I felt like the drama ended without important question marks and din’t need a continuation…

The length was ok. I didn’t find her fully relatable for her age. 40-year old men don’t hang out without females without an agenda, especially in Asia where is barely friendship between men/women. She didn’t know because she refuse to open her eyes.

I see what you mean. I follow on Instagram a Chinese woman who regularly shares knowledge on ancient China with clips of dramas, they look better more focused on historical events …I am not impressed by fantasy and wuxia.

I know it was a huge phenomenon. As this one is still available on Netflix in mandarin with English subtitles i just want some new users to have another point of view than the general consensus. Seriously one of worst thing I have seen and I usually go to end. This was recommended to me as I was venturing in Cdramas. But after
trying maybe 10-15 they are rarely for me.

I lost interest quite fast. Too much air time for me, for the mean older cast. I don’t like those mean, nosy, overbearing stepmothers. Those grandpas that still think we are in 1920. You really have to be motivated to engage with one of those young men. I would definitely say you ain’t worth the pain your mother, family would inflict to me, bye 😘
It has some funny, somehow cute moments but the fart humor isn’t my jam. The connections between the younger weren’t deep enough either. Very average rapid watch for a rainy Sunday. It’s Interesting to remind to people that complains that KDramas are now too short, when the 12-episode exits for a long time. At least 2003 in my memories
