I have seen 22 episodes but I am starting to get bored. I am certainly smarter than when I started this. This drama taking place in Europe made me confirm that those cities in Cdramas are made up. None of my local Chinese knew any of those cities…China is gigantic but I was never able to find the cities mentioned in Cdrama on the Chinese map, I was blaming myself for not remembering the right spelling and just being able ton only recognize Shanghai. So they might have filmed in the streets of Helsinki, in a few restaurants, in French Alps and city center (Annecy) but the rest is most likely in Beijing. I am pretty sure that the snooker place in that “Hull” city (Hull is in the UK) might be in Beijing. It would have been crazy to fly has much chineses when most of them have no lines or even a name. The apartment I am 90% convinced it’s in Beijing something about the furniture cries China and not European. Couldn’t have a close enough look on electric plugs and kitchen appliances to be 100%. I educate myself about snooker. First snooker scene my first impression what the heck is that place some balls are missing. I was already mocking but second scene, it was still weird. As of yesterday I thought Snooker was like boxing there are 3 kind: American, French and English. With that film I have discover Chinese snooker - 8 balls. The balls are nearly the same colors as American but only 8 and the rules seem to be like English snooker. And the imaginary Hull in Finland might be an inside joke as the Chinese (English) snooker team is lodged in Sheffield. The 2 cities are quite close everybody who knows a little about English sport knows that 2 close cities ferociously hate each other. Concerning the storyline. I did find the beginning interesting and cute and love the fact it was so focused on the 2 leads. So basically until the laundry place scene I would say cute. Then for me the enjoyment drop as we passed the puppy stage of love. He progressed and was intense. He had that gaze saying let’s have sex right now but the woman was not playing the same movie. And I felt disconnected and annoyed. I don’t like when the innnocent act last too long. She was as most of the time on the passenger seat doing nothing to make the relation progress and pulling the breaks each time they could have a deep connection. And then they get back to China and the drama get focused on snooker on other characters that frankly at this stage we don’t. There were an old dude who spoke for like 10 minutes It felt like 10 years to me. The issue on that part if you want to film sport you have to know how to make it interesting. And here they did know. The matchs aren’t filmed properly or written correctly. Even people who know nothing about basket always try the one point difference - one minute left on the chrono …in basket world one minute left is easily 10 real minutes with maximum tension because those coaches are going take all the time breaks of the world, players are gonna make fools, point guards gonna used all their left brain cells to slow/fast the game pending on if they are winning or losing. Here the snooker games were boring because there was no tragedy. I am pretty sure those directors never watched a game on tv. As boring snooker games on tv are they are still more exciting than what they filmed. So I am here episodes 22 wondering if I watch the last 8 episodes or go straight to the final episode.
I felt like the writer didn’t know the subject or had no clear intent with that script. If you want to write a plea for polyamory do it properly make some research and don’t call it bad girlfriend (the title here is the same in konglish). If you are against it works on character’s development and make at least an end that proves your point. If you want just to make a light comedy without any intent try at least to make it really funny. This drama is not funny, just a bad thing with cute actors that need money so much that they cannot recognize a bad script!!!
The best friend (Kwak Hyeon Hoo) but apparently trying to hook up with someone else too. Kinda weird because they tried to make it funny…but I fear that not many people got the vibe
No. 질투의 화신 means the jealousy incarnate. There is a little strange phenomenon on Viki we have simple…
Someone might have updated the title this October as Netflix renewed the rights for that drama. But the title isn’t an invention, it’s the title on Netflix, on google, on IMDb, Wikipedia…title here has just been aligned to the most used one.
The whole drama ruined coz she ended up with the wrong dude for stupid reasons. So she picked the asshole dude…
He didn’t bully her during 3 years, he was living abroad (Thailand) nearly the all time. Perfect on paper rarely becomes perfect in real life. I think also for us westerns we can miss some important background knowledge about Korean culture. Korea is still a culture where men have to initiate the relationship, if you haven’t noticed nearly each time women make the first move they are rejected (maybe one exemption to the rule when the woman is older but again the why is also connected to Korean culture of respect of the elders 🤣)
I don't know why it has been changed on MDL, but Don't Dare to Dream doesn't make any sense as a title for this…
No. 질투의 화신 means the jealousy incarnate. There is a little strange phenomenon on Viki we have simple translation of the Korean tittle, on Netflix or Prime regularly a reinvented title to make it more comprehensible, accessible to an audience that isn’t Korean…but sometimes that title has no sense. When a content is available on 2 different platforms it lives regularly with 2 different names (Rain or Shine/Between lovers) I do not if the translation is decided by the Korean production that sell the content or the platform which aires it but MDL has nothing to do with that.
Just started (episode 3) I am already pissed off. The old dude has 🤢fake teeth on the top and yellow ones on back and bottom. I already hoping that beautiful actress doesn’t have to kiss him. Please dude keeps your mouth shut! But everybody else is pretty. By the way who believes that a 32 girl boss who is beautiful cannot pull any guys…sorry most women can pull any guy married or not, anytime! So I have a hard time to believe that beautiful woman doesn’t have a pool of men to choose from. The editing is very bad already too much flashback about that unique evening, scenes aren’t well connected to each other. I also don’t understand those opening credits with the full series spoiled…not the first Cdrama where I notice that but elsewhere who does that??!! In case you want to drop you have already seen everything in the opening credits 🤣 not FOMO here!
At that stage I am just watching because the photography is impeccable, sets are clean and fashion is nice… and that young dude: Song Wei Long, might be the most beautiful Chinese man I have ever seen 🤣😉
