30 episodes and a well-written story are infinitely better than 60 and fillers all over the place imo... Plus, less chances for the writers to drop the ball partway through.

Absolutely agree. I almost got run over once when crossing the street (light was green, mind you), and my body froze and I just watched the damn car speed at me like an absolute idiot. There's a sort of disbelief that this is happening in the moment, it's very strange. I've been way more indulgent to characters who just won't move when in the line of fire ever since lmao

It can go both ways, I think: either she'll be twice as vengeful realizing that she was deceived her whole life and unleash the fires of hell on the actual culprit, or she'll cling to what she knows and go crazy because of it. I'd love it if the screenwriter had the guts to go for option 1.

I watched episodes 5 and 6 yesterday, and the Xie grandma said when she had him investigated to see if he could be brought to heel, the results were that Yan Rui was very close to the emperor. Shen Run has never been brought up so far except in that one flashback in episode 3, so I'm very curious how they're going to pull this one off.

Yes, besides, fans of the genre would be indulgent because they'd know there was very little budget. I've watched a ton of shows with awful CGI that I've loved anyways because I was aware of their limitations. When a team pours their heart into something, it shows, whether there's money or not. Just take Word of Honor, for example. They had so little budget they had to sell the leads' costumes to finish shooting... Visuals aren't everything. As long as the story and performances are sincere, the audience will be there to support the show. We're not asking for the moon here.

For real, I'm watching Sword God (which is hilariously bad, I love it), and one the characters shows a lot of leg at some point but her skin is sooo smooth it's unnatural lmao
