Just wanted to let you know I found your review endlessly entertaining. I tend to stay away from this type of drama (and Bai Lu's, since she seems to have a type) because I know it's going to go this way. Thank you for this wonderful review, and confirming that I made the right choice.
ikr the hate train on Jisoo is too terrific, they are even body shaming her.
Yes, the actors aren't the problem here, even if I don't agree with most of the casting choices. But Lee Min Ho looks like he's sleepwalking in the trailer, and the whole thing looks cheap and just bad all around. The posters on their own are a huge red flag, that's how terrible they look.
Casting BWS is cool and all, but do they even have the budget for this? Ashfall wasn't that heavy in CGI
Netflix has money. The quality of their writers, on the other end... Plus, SL would have to be super CGI-heavy, so even with a lot of money, chances are it'll come out looking pretty bad.
It was fine when it was just a manhwa, but at this point, Netflix is turning it into a cash grab, trying to squeeze…
For real, I'm so tired of seeing it everywhere as if it's the be-all, end-all of all things webtoon and anime. It's a good read, but nowhere near as perfect as everybody's making it out to be. And an(other) adaptation? ORV already looks beyond terrible, chances are this one isn't going to be any better.
I feel like they should have made their first life relationship more complicated if they wanted him to suicide…
I think his death was about more than hers, tbh. He'd already been very unhappy with his life, and I feel like she was the only light remaining in his life. When she died, what did he have left? (Apart from his cat, I hope his sister took care of it.)
So far this is way better than the Korean version. Confrontation with monster mommy was great. Sad that this is…
Right? I agree! From the cast to the plot development, everything feels waaay better. And we don't even have those awkward silences that kept happening in the Korean one. I feel like the KDrama just dragged things on and on and on even when there was literally no story to tell anymore, so I feel like 10 episodes will be great to tell what's left of the plot.
I heard that this drama was indeed produced by Chinese creators. But, it has not been approved or licensed by…
Ah, that explains it, thank you. I really didn't understand how something like this could get a license to air when other, much bigger and highly anticipated projects have been gathering dust for years...
He used a jammer previously so likely assumed that was still working
If you're looking for a serious secret agent drama, I'm sorry to say the only one I've found so far is The Veil. All the others ended up having incompetent idiots for leads and being comedy.
She is no damsel in distress, are we watching the same thing? She is very resourceful, that is why ML is attracted…
Her knowing who he is has nothing to do with her knowledge of the world. It was literally served to her on a silver platter when she was eavesdropping on the other caravan when the road collapsed.
This is the first time I saw Ao Rui Peng in a drama but yeah he is handsome imo as well.
You guys should definitely watch The Blood of Youth. It's the one who brought him to the public eye, if I'm not mistaken, and it's absolutely fantastic.
