At least we have Yao Lu! I think he's the best actor playing "the uncle".
What I miss the most is his kindness and smarts. He's not stupid here, but he's not super smart either, and more than that, he's just not the uber-kind, sunshine boy who keeps drawing everyone into his orbit...

I really think the problem lies in the writing. Bai Shu's a good actor (I don't know if you've seen him in Love and Redemption, but he does a fantastic job), but Wu Xie doesn't sound or act like himself imo, it's very troubling.
The more of this I watch, the more I realize whoever wrote this had no idea what they were doing. Bai Shu's doing good, but Wu Xie is completely out of character.
Yes, it's difficult to know whether this show is objectively good or bad because they really chose the worst possible timing to release it. It's a bad move for everyone involved, especially the actors, who have to fill big shoes and can't be blamed for falling short when they have this sort of script to work with, and very little experience...
Probably not, I think they complete postprod and then the shows get shelved until they have an airing date. The staff has to earn a living, they can't be stuck on a single project for three years.
Ok, Pang Zi is as awesome as always and Xie Yu Chen also. I do understand the criticism for Wu Xie. For me though,…
I absolutely agree with you. I think he's been hurt and therefore he's lashing out against all the wrong people, and it doesn't feel right coming from him. It's nothing to do with Bai Shu, though, it's just the way Wu Xie's written. Halfway through episode 2, however, he seems to be over it.
