I was hoping we would find out about JH's past on ep 9 but they left us hanging... All this memory lost plot would made more sense if we actually found out something concret. Didn't liked this touch at all.
THEORY: My guess is that when he was a kid, he told his father about his sister and the slave liking each other but the dad misunderstood and punish the slave that probably died later. His sister then killed herself and JH felt guilty about it and left home.
Since he feels guilty, he punish himself, refused to marry, have a home and be happy. His love for GC made him change his mind but still he feels that he doesn't deserve happiness (remember in the beginning he kept saying he isn't a good person). JH is also insecure, you can notice that in S1. I just want to find his story, I hope the writers don't skip this part.
this drama is wayy be better than a I thought. I wanted to see why is in the top 15 of MDL and now I know why. One of the best time travel dramas I ever watched.
