On the side note novel adaptations are usually different as compared to the source material cuz chapter worth of scenes can be summarized in few minutes of screenplay. Furthermore adaptation don't go into detail to portray the essence of the characters and discuss emotions in detail like in the novel..... Too reiterate, I have not read novel so I can't talk about it with 100% assurance but at the same time it feels like, you are expecting bit too much !

That's how its interpreted in men world and last thing ANYONE in world is going to do is have designs on someone, he is supposed to protect from other monsters... it's like ultimate betrayal. Now I am not saying people don't date their friend sisters, it happens but it happens after sister makes a move, you inform your bro about her it and you accept her confession in only one condition. If he greenlights it OR if your elders introduce you to each other through "Blind date" or matchmaker. I know my response came out bitt aggressive, I just hate this troupe with passion cuz out of 4 billion women in world, you decided to go after your own bro underage sister.
