Yep BBC dramas are still good but they have started to follow the trend, but still have some bangers like "Peaky Blinders" and "The Last Kingdom". If you have not watched Peaky blinders, I highly recommend it (its your type of drama) but beware it has Pg-18+ rating for a reason (hardcore gore and gang violence). The acting is phenomenal (especially by lead Thomas Shelby), and story is one of the best to come out of that area.

Although she is 25 but looks like a high schooler but she suffers from same problem as the above-mentioned actress, lack of action experience. This isn't just young actress problem even in older generation only Ni Ni, Dilraba Dilmurat, Jing Tian and Bai Lu can perform action scenes flawlessly. Who knows the situation may change soon due to backlash in mainland, but we really don't have any choice at this point. K-dramas just like C-dramas love their green-virgin ML's, western industries are obsessed with forced inclusion and LGBTQ+++ conversion schemes (like there were gay/people of colour in old tv series but nobody cared about it cuz it wasn't their character defining trait and it made sense in the story, this forced inclusion just for sake of its problem...take black snow white and white cleopatra) and my home country industry is obsessed with Evil mother in law and always victim FL trope. The gaming industry is equally "F" and we are having black samurai in ancient Japan now. I mean sure one dude existed in history, but he wasn't samurai and if I am paying 80$ for a title set in ancient japan. You better believe I want authentic experience with japanese samurai fighting wars! So, here we are putting up with c-dramas cuz we have no other option, and they are still better than other stuff out there. I tried getting into Taiwanese dramas and even watched one "Lost Romance" but after that none of them caught my attention. If have any suggestion let me now !

I have not read the novel but people told me, he was sexist as fuck in the novel and did sleep with FL. Which is authentic according to the era and sleeping part makes sense to complete his cover but Chinese censors will have heart attack if someone let it slide. TBH, I am sold and looking forward to the love story between ruthless and cunning prince and merciless bandit. I am sicken tired of all these Ever-Green ML in recent releases and its refreshing to see a grey character, whose life doesn't revolve around FL and he has his life goals and objectives to complete.

See ML is 27 and FL is 36, so if we are going to complain about wrong casting, then we have complain about them both. If we go by your statement then role should have gone Zhao Jin Mai, Jing Ye, Wang chu ran and Zhou Ye. But apart from Zhou Ye none of these actress are well versed in doing action scenes and Jing Tian is known for her action tv series. She did look like 24-25 year but you have to consider all those above mentioned actress are booked for two years in advance and don't have time to do mid budget Tv series.
