The scenes are shown in trailer for ep 27 and 28, did they placed ML and imperial examination case on back burner to give screentime to SQR...Like it was big movement for the ML.

He is a very complex character with a lot nuisances but he failed to gain the audience sympathy, give reasoning for his actions, show the "internal struggle going on in him between his love for FL and desire to save his family" and he holds a single emotion without micro-expressions or anything else. You better believe if SQR character was played by better actor and seasoned villain like Jeremy Tusai or Liu Xue Yi. Our sympathies will be far and wide him. Why nobel families don't rise up this time around, when they clearly knew FL/ML have fucked them over. She may appear nonchalant but her biggest fear is the repeat of previous life, where her and ML were at odds against eachother and they both died. So The Han emperor you are trying to mention is Han Wudi and he was great conqueror, who just like Emperor forced reform through the court and then nobels/ states rebel and then he would launch campaign and utterly devastate them. I am using utter devastate cuz he emptied huge area of Chinese southlands and completely depopulated the area. He is known for his reforms, which he passed on the tip of sword and sheer brutality! I agree with you points and Emperor was at fault for alot of things too, like when he went on expedition, he should have known nobel families will block the supplies. I blame LC but at the same time, when I look at the whole picture I also understands that. One party went extreme, and Nobel families forced his hand. They tax and Imperial examination reforms were the chance for them to show their sincerity but they completely against it. I would have blamed LC for a lot stuff but at the same time, after his father death. They tried to become even more powerful and refuse to reform or give-away anything and that bring about their doom, in essence if you look at it. They owned huge swaths of land, paid no taxes for it, land was completely in their control and they owned their own massive private armies and they were also allied to each other. This is what you call "Warlords" or independent kingdoms on which no Emperor had any authority, you are thinking LC was wrong but I see a man attempting to conquer the rival kingdoms to bring about the peace and restoration of his country. Now if Nobel families accepted any reforms like "Tax reform", I would have stood by your opinion but they refused to change or give up anything and went ahead to gain even more power. So, you see a tyrannical ruler but I see a "great conqueror" like Qin, Han, Tang and Ming trying to unify the country under one rule.
