No wonder his two sons turned out the way they were, what kind of punishment did he gives his oldest son beside grounded him in his residence for murdering his wife and her servants, and after knowing that same son tried to poison his brother and killed his nurse he's still making excuses for him. Those officials asking the emperor to banish the son for his crime against his brother and this father actually try to dismiss it as just a fight against brothers. How can this guy be so blinded over his love for his two son while treated lini so harshly when he was the reason why he was able to sit on the throne in the first place. What a weak emperor, he will easily be taken advantage of by those who have a bad intention like minister gu, he is starting to see he can manipulate the emperor to get him to do his bidding by stopping him from letting cuilin be the crown princess. Also lini found out someone was working with sunjing in the capital who could it be, is minister gu is as he seems. Minister pei is on Lini's side so he can't be the traitor.

Yeah I also love their second outfits. They look so relax and really enjoy each other company. Jingtian yellow dress was so beautiful and eye-catching ^^

I also like him acting opposite older, season actors. In loss in Kunlun mountain I like his confrontation with the sml who's an older actor but I thought xukai was so good in their scenes together too ^^

So lini other reason for not wanting to be crown prince is because he doesn't want to fight cuilin since once they married the court will want to take over her army and he knows her father will not want to give up his army to him or to the court. Also what the crown princess said about losing freedom and not able to be herself if cuilin was to take the crown princess title so lini was also thinking for cuilin when he refused to become crown prince because he understood it more than she does. Kind of feels bad for their relationship since her father pushed the issue of wanting lini to be crown prince to the emperor, lini thinks cuilin is the one that planned it. Now that he is supported by all the officials, his brothers are getting restless and wanting to get rid of him. I'm afraid for those people who are close to him since they even targeted his nurse in order to poison him. What's he going to do, he will have no choice but to take the crown prince title to protect himself and those people close to him now the gloves are off, his brothers are not hiding their intentions any longer.

This drama takes time to develop the fl, I like her character development and if you keep watching you will start to like her character as she grows and mature. Your loss because this has a very good storyline with many good actors and actresses and great CGI.

General pei junior is such a mother hen to lini. I really like their friendship, it reminded me of she and her perfect husband and he was also a friend to xukai in that drama. I'm so glad for lini to have such good friends and comrades who would always be there to support him compare to the treatment of his family, no wonder he's so against living in the palace with such restrictions place on him all the time, he would rather spend time with the men who has been fighting with him at laolan pass, who are much more honest and he doesn't have to play games around them and truly be himself ^^

Cuilin and lini have such a deep understanding of each other that she would know when he needs comfort and come to see him to keeps him company even though her army was stationed far away. I love their relationship because they can talk to each other about anything and understanding what the other was thinking. I'm sad for lini, him wanting his mother to get a proper title but his father was so callous to refuse to give it to her, that father is the worst father in the history of drama, compare to lini family, cuilin has such loving parents and her father's love for her by wanting to give her everything by hiding her gender and raised her as a son since in that society daughter will not be able to inherit everything he owns. Such difference in parenting and lini turns into such a kind young man has nothing to do with that trash of a father. Those two brothers of his are only good at scheming and pandering to their father. It's a good thing lini escape and went to the border otherwise he might turn out like those two brothers due to his father's bad parenting.

I didn't watch one and only so I can't say anything about Zhou sheng chen and you might be right about that character, but what has lini has to do with him. No I would never call him stupid/ foolish or spineless, he has never wants anything to do with the royal family, he pretends to be a troublemaker to be send away to fight at the border because he did not like living in the palace. Why should he have to be anything he didn't want to be, sure it would have been the right thing to do to be the crown prince to help the people, but there are other way for him to contribute his talents, and it shouldn't take away his freedom, he called it being in a cage if you have never experienced what he has what gives you the right to judge him, he was never treated well by his family, so he doesn't owe them anything, for him to go as far as fighting to oust the rebels that's the limit he would go and can you blame him. No he didn't know his family well since he doesn't live with them since young, but they're still his family so he might overlook their faults. What give you the right to say thing like he deserves being treated like shit by his father. You said he doesn't understand cuilin love, what do you know about him, someone who was neglected at a kid who doesn't have family love like cuilin but was able to turn into such a fine man, who didn't turn bad because of his childhood but instead still able to become such a kind person who always thinks for others. For the record it's not about not wanting power only, but also losing personal freedom that he didn't want to give up. I predicted at the beginning, he would've to go through something major for him to change his mindset since being crown prince is not something he has ever wanted to become, so it has to be something really tragic.

Also not understanding why you're complaining about people surviving being impaled although i haven't watch that ep, how many people gotten injured badly and survived in this drama lol, ml being ml he must be treated special by the author to get such bad injuries and still live, and it's what it's in dramas battle scenes are always exaggerated to make it more exciting. Lini is the one person that deserves happiness the most and I'm rooting for him to find his happy ending.

Not sure what the word spineless has to do with lini. Someone who went to the border as a child and became a warrior who fight for his country and doing what he likes without falling into other people's machination. I would call him a courageous young man, who could turn a bad childhood into a positive experience by becoming a humorous person who can make friends and gains their trust by his own conducts. Such a person is someone to be admire, who doesn't care about power or politics and only want to live a carefree life, someone who is royalty but is not afraid to face hardship or abandon a life of luxury because he despise the life he was living in the palace, as well as those who look down on his mother's lowly status.

I'm the same like you, I don't follow any actor/actress before I'm only a casual drama watcher, my first drama of his was story of yanxi palace, and it was just a coincidence that I watched two of his dramas back to back and became his fan ever since ^^

I don't like love triangle whether it's male or female. I like the relationship to be equal and fl to be as in love with ml as he's with her actually. But it's true as women we love ml to be the perfect lover I can't deny it lol, i really hate the toxic ml/sml, fl/sfl so I have a low tolerance for those trope and would like to avoid it if possible.

I saw some videos on YouTube with xukai and jingtian, they both looks so beautiful walking together on the red carpet in their outfits ^^
