What I meant is you applying your modern thinking onto the fl who's a commander in an army, but you want her to act like a young girl in love to satisfy what you consider as a good quality in an fl. I on the other hand don't judge her character because I know she's the product of her upbringing living in a man word so she has to be even better than a man to get respect. Yeah let agree to disagree, just like in this day and age people have different types they like, in this drama ml likes the fl because she's a warrior who can be as good as any man in battle as well as tactics, and who he consider as someone he can compete with. The script is off for you maybe because you can't accept such an fl that breaks the standard mole of what an fl should be like, or the ml who breaks the standard mole of ml because he's not ambitious and instead is understanding and kind characteristics that are usually written for female characters.

I remember you liking the wolf and ml was manipulative towards fl I think. Although i don't normally like manipulative characters, ml isn't the pushover type like what you're saying about him, so they make a strong couple who can duke it out as hard as they can because they're evenly match. Like how ml yell at fl for being drugged by her when that old couple died. In that scene we can see ml being emotional while fl was being rational even though she also wants to rescue the old couple she also realizes they were outmatched. This is the characters dynamic I like about this couple very similar to another couple I watched a long time ago in another drama, the fact I can remember that couple after such a long time just show their deep impression on me till today.

Yeah I can see she just wanted what's the best for him, and she thinks being the crown prince is the only way for him to survive otherwise those who want power will want him harms no matter how good his intentions they will wants to strip him of power so he won't be a threats to them. And for him to protect the crown prince son he will needs his army to do that, and as long as he has an army he will be a threats to those who wants power.

I also think the same, as long as he doesn't cause any trouble for lini. But we already know he doesn't have a good opinion of lini because of his two older sons who are good at manipulating him to make trouble for their younger brother because of their jealousy and also because they afraid he will get the better of them.

That sounds like a really cool movie, and I would totally be rooting for this movie. Who do you think would make a good fl, as we just saw jingtian together with xukai in a historical, I wouldn't mind seeing her again pairing with him for a modern since I think she was pretty good in action scenes ^^

You seems to like only one type of characters I suppose. I on the other hand like different types of characters. These two leads are very different from the typical male and female leads you see in historical dramas, but that's why I like them so much, not saying I haven't seen such characters before, but they're very rare because they kind of have a role reversal. It's rare to see such an understanding and patience ml, or such a strong fl who's not afraid to speak her mind or use whatever means to win a fight. Fl is usually written as weak and more emotional, here we see an fl who knows how to use her mind and can be just as ruthless as any men. Isn't it weird that if it was a male being written in this way, he would be love for that same qualities, while since it was the fl she was being hated , the same with the ml.

In regards to the hairpin, it could be considered as a love token if it was anybody else but cuilin is unlike other girls, and it looks to me like they made a bet and she won by him staying behind as a result she gave him her hairpin to remember that occasion. I felt it was only later when they exchanged their love tokens when they were sleeping that I felt it was them exchange vows to each other. You're applying your own thinking onto the fl, does she likes him maybe, but she can separate her feeling from business since she only met him for a short time, she wouldn't lose sight of what is important. This can be explained why the both of them hiding their own sides actions from each other and both of them were constantly on guard against the other. Just because they have an understanding when it comes to working together, they still want their own sides to have the advantage. Let agree to disagree I find fl action is within her means as a commander, she's a strong woman and wouldn't fall for any male, such an fl will not be willing to fall in love to someone who's weaker than her or easily misled by her.

Chasing the moon is the story about yuemi and tianqi, and it has started shooting. Yeah I know what you mean about yuemi, she was such a good friend and tianqi was a fool to not pick her.

Some dramas does take longer to draws you in than others. This is opposite for me since I like how much screen times the leads get and how they're working together as well as working against each other. It kind of like getting to know each other through fighting ^^

Some people do die from being pierced, others survived and just gotten injuries. I don't know how badly ml injuries is, but that's just normal in cdramas when it comes to action dramas they can take lots of damages.

Yes she does. In ep 25, he asked her if she loves him and she told him she never loved anyone before, but she knew right away after she kicked him into the well that she loves him. So her definition of love is very different from other girls lol ^^

Yeah that what I like about lini. I feel the author switched the personality of the ml and fl. Because lini is written with characteristics of a female, while fl is written with characteristics of a male. These two as a result complement each other. I think him being unambitious has a lot to do with not wanting to be tie down and want to be free to travel around compare to being tie to the court and have to fight his own relatives because he's not ruthless enough. While cuilin written as ruthless and always thinking for the good of the country rather than her own feeling. Both are good actor and actress who can portray their characters well enough to carry across to the audience ^^

They haven't declared their feelings for each other and I'm not sure what make you say trust is an issue here. Your thinking is why many times men said women are emotional creatures, men think rationally while women think in term of feeling, fl is written as someone who is rational and often can be ruthless because she's raised in a military family as we've seen when she drugged him when they were surrounded in the early ep when that old couple died protecting them. Ml is a member of the royal family, but he is not verse in the royal court since he was banished to the border since he was young. To think a guy who doesn't like a docile woman, but rather like a woman who can be his equal, who thinks in term of win or loss is consider a doormat just because he likes a challenge. If ml was like other men, he would like someone like miss gu, who was always polite and deferred to him, but he's not like most men and what he said to general pei is exactly why he likes cuilin beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, no matter how gentle miss gu is, she could not catch lini's heart because he never has eyes for her in the first place. Also cuilin might be devious but she's honest, we don't know what's behind miss gu's facade whether she's hiding an uglier face even though she's showing her gentle side to him on the surface.

That's fine if their characters are not the type of characters you like. I'm always liking characters who are written different than the normal ml and fl, this drama has an unusual ml who doesn't have any ambition even though he has all the talents to lead, I want to see if he can stay the same, or if something will happen that will force him to change his thought process. Or the fl being just as smart and talented as any man, who reminded me of another strong fl character I seen in a really old drama I watched when I was younger, she also used needles and also always challenges the ml and they were always at odd with each other due to their different priorities.

Lots of characters in this drama were able to survive being pierced by arrows or spears so it's not just the ml lol ^^

Was this drama trying to compare to those two dramas, it was your choice to make that comparison since you only watch to 8 eps and you already made up your mind, this is an entertaining dramas with two opposing leads and not too heavy on politics as of the eps I'm watching, but could change in the future as ml is force to make a choice. I haven't seen those other two dramas, but I seen the blood of youth and many other historical dramas and I won't say i'm well verse in what makes a good strategy, but i don't think it was bad either. Were they playing on war and politics, both of them are commanders of an army, so they're better at commanding army rather than in court politics. Ml has no ambition or want anything to do with the court and only want to go back to his station to guard the border, fl is different and wants to help her father and to bring peace to the country, since she thinks the current ruling power is weak, so she thinks only her army is able to do that until she met the ml.
