Because you're thinking is flaw, why can't she be ruthless and also be a moral character; she used underhanded tactics from the first time she met ml, so what made you said she's not the same character as she was before. What I understand is you're putting your own value into this character who has totally different experiences than you do, who loss her mother at a young age and was raised by her father, so she didn't have a female figure in her life. Who has to dress up as a male to hide her identity from the outside world, who only experienced battles and deaths. Also why can't she be rational and also emotional when losing someone she cares about. Does being raised as a man means she has no emotions, that she can't grieve for a brother who grows up with her. Or get angry when the man she loves choose to stand on the side while she was in danger. I just put myself in her shoes and can understand why she reacted so strongly since to her lini is her first love, and she doesn't know how to handle her feelings to him.

Being a realist does not mean she's without flaws. I agree she's also idealistic, but unlike lini who just think things will automatically work themselves out, she realizes to get the desire outcomes he would've to take things into his own hands rather than leave it to those who are not capable or who desire power for themselves. Lini having been in the court doesn't want anything to do with it because he consider it a cage, while cuilin having never live in the court and only been in battle wouldn't know about it, and only think about helping him get the crown prince title because she also afraid his life will be put in danger because he's a threat to those who desire power for themselves. She would think losing her free will is a small price to pay for the good of the country, and achieve peace without understanding how much restrictions it will place on her since she never experienced it herself. That why I can see both of their pov and understand where they're coming from. For such a relationship to work, it means both of them can take on each other views without trying to destroy each other, just like two people having different political views but can still live peacefully under the same house. Not sure why you think they can't have a relationship, because I've seen such a relationship before in another drama, both leads have such differing viewpoints, but eventually they both join forces and work together to get their desire outcomes.

She's not manipulative or spoiled, she's being realistic and I find the ml too idealistic because she was right when she predicted how his brothers will react when it comes to wanting power, power can turn people mad and turn on each other even family.

Fl is not spoiled, she's just realistic and understanding human emotions quite well. Both ml and fl have their own thinking and expectations. And I find the leads have a balance relationship because they both are strong individuals who will not give in for their own principles. It's interesting to see fl being the one to be rational, while ml being more idealistic. I understand why ml doesn't want anything to do with fighting for the throne since he called it being trap in a cage, while fl was saying he was already trapped so the only way out for him would be to take the lead. I can see both sides and understand their thought processes and why they made those choices.

Douban also has lots of haters. Fiys got lots of hate from esport fans who hated the drama before it came out and even attacked the main actor and actress, so no wonder when it came out it was rated low. At the time xukai also has ancient love poetry, and that drama didn't get a high rating as I thought it deserves either because of all the haters who hated on the fl for her looks and fat shamed him. That why I don't consider douban as a site that I would trust to give a fair rating of dramas. For xukai he is an actor and not an idol so his fans would rate his dramas without bias, but he also has lots of haters as a result his dramas don't have high rating compared to other idols who have fans who would rate their dramas high to balance out the haters.

What I meant is you applying your modern thinking onto the fl who's a commander in an army, but you want her to act like a young girl in love to satisfy what you consider as a good quality in an fl. I on the other hand don't judge her character because I know she's the product of her upbringing living in a man word so she has to be even better than a man to get respect. Yeah let agree to disagree, just like in this day and age people have different types they like, in this drama ml likes the fl because she's a warrior who can be as good as any man in battle as well as tactics, and who he consider as someone he can compete with. The script is off for you maybe because you can't accept such an fl that breaks the standard mole of what an fl should be like, or the ml who breaks the standard mole of ml because he's not ambitious and instead is understanding and kind characteristics that are usually written for female characters.

I remember you liking the wolf and ml was manipulative towards fl I think. Although i don't normally like manipulative characters, ml isn't the pushover type like what you're saying about him, so they make a strong couple who can duke it out as hard as they can because they're evenly match. Like how ml yell at fl for being drugged by her when that old couple died. In that scene we can see ml being emotional while fl was being rational even though she also wants to rescue the old couple she also realizes they were outmatched. This is the characters dynamic I like about this couple very similar to another couple I watched a long time ago in another drama, the fact I can remember that couple after such a long time just show their deep impression on me till today.

Yeah I can see she just wanted what's the best for him, and she thinks being the crown prince is the only way for him to survive otherwise those who want power will want him harms no matter how good his intentions they will wants to strip him of power so he won't be a threats to them. And for him to protect the crown prince son he will needs his army to do that, and as long as he has an army he will be a threats to those who wants power.

I also think the same, as long as he doesn't cause any trouble for lini. But we already know he doesn't have a good opinion of lini because of his two older sons who are good at manipulating him to make trouble for their younger brother because of their jealousy and also because they afraid he will get the better of them.

That sounds like a really cool movie, and I would totally be rooting for this movie. Who do you think would make a good fl, as we just saw jingtian together with xukai in a historical, I wouldn't mind seeing her again pairing with him for a modern since I think she was pretty good in action scenes ^^

You seems to like only one type of characters I suppose. I on the other hand like different types of characters. These two leads are very different from the typical male and female leads you see in historical dramas, but that's why I like them so much, not saying I haven't seen such characters before, but they're very rare because they kind of have a role reversal. It's rare to see such an understanding and patience ml, or such a strong fl who's not afraid to speak her mind or use whatever means to win a fight. Fl is usually written as weak and more emotional, here we see an fl who knows how to use her mind and can be just as ruthless as any men. Isn't it weird that if it was a male being written in this way, he would be love for that same qualities, while since it was the fl she was being hated , the same with the ml.

In regards to the hairpin, it could be considered as a love token if it was anybody else but cuilin is unlike other girls, and it looks to me like they made a bet and she won by him staying behind as a result she gave him her hairpin to remember that occasion. I felt it was only later when they exchanged their love tokens when they were sleeping that I felt it was them exchange vows to each other. You're applying your own thinking onto the fl, does she likes him maybe, but she can separate her feeling from business since she only met him for a short time, she wouldn't lose sight of what is important. This can be explained why the both of them hiding their own sides actions from each other and both of them were constantly on guard against the other. Just because they have an understanding when it comes to working together, they still want their own sides to have the advantage. Let agree to disagree I find fl action is within her means as a commander, she's a strong woman and wouldn't fall for any male, such an fl will not be willing to fall in love to someone who's weaker than her or easily misled by her.

Chasing the moon is the story about yuemi and tianqi, and it has started shooting. Yeah I know what you mean about yuemi, she was such a good friend and tianqi was a fool to not pick her.

Some dramas does take longer to draws you in than others. This is opposite for me since I like how much screen times the leads get and how they're working together as well as working against each other. It kind of like getting to know each other through fighting ^^

Some people do die from being pierced, others survived and just gotten injuries. I don't know how badly ml injuries is, but that's just normal in cdramas when it comes to action dramas they can take lots of damages.

Yes she does. In ep 25, he asked her if she loves him and she told him she never loved anyone before, but she knew right away after she kicked him into the well that she loves him. So her definition of love is very different from other girls lol ^^
