There's not a lot of discussion now, but he was discussed alot back when I was watching when it was aired. Some people on here even said he was their favorite, so he's just as popular as the main leads. In my opinion, I like the different personalities he has to baijue, you're right about tianqi being open and unrestrained. What I find about him is, he's easily falls victim to wuhuan for that personality of his, wuhuan was able to hide her sins for so long without anyone being the wiser about it because tianqi didn't care that he was misunderstood in the murder of goddess yuemi. He let them believe him as the bad guy for so long, giving wuhuan chances to commit more crimes as the heavenly empress. I consider it's a fault of his for being too prideful, and not caring what anyone thought of him. I don't consider him as a bad guy though, I just think he's a bit irresponsible in comparison to the other true gods, but that's also the reason why his character is interesting because he doesn't always follow rules, and just do what he want to do regardless of the consequences ^^

What's the rank for this drama. I keep hearing about the different rank. So the highest rank is S+, then what is this drama rank?

You can't really say it's flop just base on douban rating. There were lots of haters for this drama from those eSport fans. They even cyber bullying the main leads before the drama air.

Agree it's still a rumor whether xukai will be in this drama or not. I'll just wait until it's confirm.

You're overthinking, I was agreeing with you about the wasting time part though. If it's not something you would like then move on, I wouldn't watch a drama if I think it would waste my time, and I don't care how you rate it. Some dramas I like don't have good rating, and other dramas I think are overrated, but it's come down to reference, writing about something being overated made it looks like you're complaining about those people who rate it high lol.

This emperor is so foolish, he blames his son for the attack on him, not suspecting his own brothers could be behind the attack. Also you yi fan able to survive being stabs that many times, did he wear a body armor the one that was given to him by his foster father. What did he give to yue hua and tell her to cook according to that instruction. It's not poison, but I have to wonder if it's meant to kill the emperor slowly. Why does yuehua listen to him, does she not suspect he has an ulterior motive for such an instruction. The emperor was so nice to her by awarding her a title of directress, she didn't even earned it, and her treatment of zi ping. Yue hua stuck-up personality is making her unattractive and unlikable.

I understand what you're implying about the ml in other dramas, but for this drama only I understood his reason and it was made clear why he acted that way. He's an eSport player who has no time for girlfriend, also he doesn't want to be bother by a girlfriend who will take his time away from eSport. It was made pretty clear to me in the beginning. His liking the fl came about because she has the same interest as he does. I don't know about other dramas, but for this drama the set up made perfect sense why he has to act cold toward girls because he's an attractive guy, and also he's in the public eyes, he wouldn't want to have any scandal involving him to distract him from his love for eSports.

Don't push your worldview onto others. In asian culture in the past and even now some women still want to have marriage before sex, and they consider once they had sex with a guy, they're committed to be marry to. Most guys who are not ready to settle down has to be careful about sending the wrong message. For the ml in this drama, his position is made very clear when he said he's not willing to be in a relationship with someone who does not have the same interests as him, because he knows they will break up eventually. For Asian culture, they're much more conservative, and some Asians are asexual and don't have any interests in sex at all. This drama even get a lot of criticism from eSports fans for showing an escort player being in a relationship, well they think it's totally a wrong representation of eSport players.

Yeah this drama is very good. I really like the main leads here, but I have to say support characters are not as compelling/interesting as in those other palace dramas I seen before. Most of you Zheng dramas have big casts, and the focus are not always on the main leads.

It's happy ending, but too short.

I don't remember fl ever drooling over ml for his good look, but I can see she was idolizing him from their first meeting in the elevator. I just thought she was admiring him for his game skill until she truly get to know him and fell in love with him. Fl never shows she cares about how good looking he's unlike her friend who was praising ml for his good look each time she met fl. For ml we don't know his dating history, but what is know about him is he only cares about eSports, and he said he will date girl who can beat him in game. There was a scene where he explained to fatty why he likes fl, and it all stem from her being able to play eSports, he called her cute crying after losing a game, etc. I don't know about other ml, but for this ml it makes sense for him to avoid having girlfriend since his interest has always been eSports, so his girlfriend has to be someone who also into eSports. Many dramas main target audiences are females, so that explains why most ml are written as devoted and perfect boyfriend material. For this drama, the ml is not so perfect, he's cold and kind of mean, and he also made mistakes when he has to deal with social media, protecting his girlfriend and being the captain. I like how responsible he's as a captain, and his change in personality once they started dating lol ^^
