What is contradictory about it may I ask? I really love the story line and I'm still not over this drama. I'm so desperate for the main leads having anytime together. I even love it when she reminisce their time together because it's so short compare to the pain of separation and the joy they had being ordinary immortals. The only thing I want to complains about this drama is it's too short ☹️

No love triangle since sml never has a chance in the first place. There is a second couple in their second lifetime, and they're very sweet just like the main leads. Bromance between the three true gods, they seem to have each other back and are very close to each other even if two of them in love with the same woman, the sml even helps the ml and fl multiple times ^^

First time seeing xukai with an actress who is much closer in height to him. Wonder how tall is Gulnezer?

Nobody is trashing bailu, but there have been a few bailu's fans who been trashing wu jinyan and xukai and making it look like bailu is a victim and that's not the case here. Bailu was filming another drama with Allen ren and in my opinion she is the one who abandoned this project, whether it was due to conflict of schedule or for other reasons, but no one is trashing bailu. The most I see is some of their fans just want them to work with other people not just being pair again since they were pair in two dramas back to back.

I agree wuhuan doesn't deserve her fortune after her betrayal of shanggu. Muguang is blinded by love and even after knowing about his teacher's death he still wants to cover for her.

Good thing Gujun figure her out early and weren't fool by her, his devotion to shanggu is commendable. Wuhuan was punished by losing her husband and son, while the other son rejected her, so in the end she ended up with only her daughter as company, as well as having to live forever with all kind of illness is a small price to pay for her betrayal.

Can't wait to see xukai in costume. He always looks great in historical drama. If anyone has more photos please share ^^

I don't think you should force your opinion by saying it doesn't meet the bar to someone who hasn't watch it since not everyone will share your opinion on what make a good drama. That's why I made that comment in the first place.

I have to disagree with you. This far exceed the bar, and in my opinion better than ashes of love.

I think it will exceed your expectation. I loved it the most compare to eternal love and ashes of love, but this is also base on your preference as I didn't like ashes of love and think ancient love poetry deserves higher rating than ashes of love.

Let not make comparison, each drama has its own strength. Fl in falling into your smile has been getting lots of complaints for her acting and in my opinion the one who convinces me of their chemistry is the ml, the fl lacks expressions since she still a new actor I don't mind so much. Zhou dong yu is a great actress and she was able to carry her weight in this drama. Their relationship is much stronger and deeper than the relationship in falling into your smile because this is a xanxia it follows multiple life times, so we feel a deeper bond between them.

I think xukai is using his own voice in this drama. It sounds like his voice ^^

I actually think it has lots of comedy in the beginning, but it die off and become more serious in second half. In my opinion the second half is the best part of the show, also romance isn't the main part of the drama and that's what I love about it. Some dramas just ruin it by focusing too much on romance, and as a result after the couple got together it became boring and you lose interest, but for this one my interest were engage from beginning to the end. Very good palace drama for those who looking for this type of genre with a smart female lead who was able to rise to highest office as a female official in the palace. ^^

Let be positive, I haven't watch any dramas of the actress but I'm looking forward to this drama for xukai. He hasn't disappointed me with his choice of script ^^
