In the last ep he even said the one thing he regrets is not being there for yuanqi when he was growing up, so his love for yuanqi is just as deep as his love for shanggu. I think dying and seeing someone you care about dying are two different things, i think he was just comforting his son , so he wouldn't feel sad over his death since he even said the person who dies doesn't feel pain. It's his own way of saying goodbye to his son. Shanggu already died once before, it was baijue that collect her souI for 60,000 years to give her a new life free from the tribulation of chaos. I don't think he expects to be reborn since his soul also got destroyed along with his body in the tribulation of chaos. Nobody expect him to be reborn as the new god of fire, shanggu begging the ancestral god to bring him back was a desperate move because she couldn't move on from his death.

Me too, there's no excuse for killing your parents or your sibling. In history there are many such kings who took the throne by shady mean, but due to how they treat the people they will get praise or condemnation depend on their action after they took the throne. That's why the reason they gave in this drama and the other is his older brother want to kill him first, so he was left with no other choice but to kill him to protect himself.

I guess this drama will not be broadcast at all.

Like i said, history is written by the winner, in the other drama it pretty much gave him a halo. For this drama, the whole xuanwu gate incident was never mention, but the grand emperor never forgives him about the death of his 2 sons. What impresses me is he didn't killed his father like he did his brothers to get the throne, since the previous emperor killed his father and brother for the throne, and gotten such a bad rep for his cruelty, so he doesn't want to be known as the same as him since he wants to win the heart of the people ^^

Really impress with the whole casts in this drama. They all did the best acting in their given roles. Feel like the casting was given lots of thought and consideration, that's why this drama turns out well, because everyone gives their best from costumes, backgrounds, cgi, scripts, acting...

I don't know much about this emperor, other than watching a really old drama where he was portrayed as an intellectual with good military strategies when he was still a young man. His older brothers were foolish, and jealous of him as well as his father is a coward lol. In that one the previous emperor was a tyrant, and it was through his skill that his father gotten the throne. Toward the end, he became emperor and was known as a great emperor of his time, who willing to listen to criticism, etc. That drama he wasn't the main lead, but it painted him with such a positive lights, it was a given he will inherit the throne over his elder brothers who tried to have him killed due to their jealousy. History is written in favor of the winner so i don't how much truth to it though.

This is a youth drama so it must have attract lots of younger fans, also the casts are good looking. I'm also liking the osts for this drama, i think some of the singers are koreans. The lyric to all these osts are very inspirational, i heard a lot went into making the osts, and i watch a vid into the making of the osts, fiys went all out when they made the osts for this drama as it has some foreigns influence outside of china^^

I'm glad tong yao gotten support from players whom she played against, they all speak up for her, and warn those toxic fans to leave her alone. I can't believe someone could be that toxic to send something like a razor just to hurt someone else they only seen from afar, that is too much i hope the one who is responsible will be hold accountable for their action. Chengxiao is good in crying scenes, and when she smiles it look genuine. I really like the way both lu si cheng and tong yao handle the falls out between lao mao and lao k, one is being strict, the other is using the loving strategy like a married couple disciplining their children lol ^^ I'm loving how lu si cheng is being protective toward tong yao, and comforting her and assure her there will no break up between them, super adorable, and those kiss scenes ^^

Court lady is a good drama too, you should give it a try, you might end up liking it. His character started out as a playboy and become mature after falling for fl ^^

No worry, i was just curious. I also seen him played wang lu and love him in that too. My last drama i seen of him was court lady, and his character was a playboy who became mature, so i think he's can play both type of personality from comedic to serious well ^^

Picking up this drama again and finished ep 25, just have to say lu si cheng is becoming such a sweet and clingy boyfriend, he find every opportunity to kiss her, and he's also not afraid to show off to their fans. These fans are too much, they acted like once both smiling and chessman are in a relationship, they will automatically play badly, and they even wish them to lose their game. Feel so bad for tong yao who has been constantly called out by these so call fans. She should just turn off her phone rather than read all those toxic comments.

Same, can't wait for royal feast and xukai and wu jinyan reunion ^^

Why you don't take him seriously in serious role? I gotten to know him in serious roles first before his comedic roles, and love those characters just as much as his comedic roles. Story of yanxi palace is still one of my favorite drama, and fuca fuheng is still my second lead syndrome, it was what got me to become a fan of xukai ^^ For this drama I just love his baijue in the god realm, and missing shanggu and baijue moments after everything that happens to them later on, these moments are hard to come by and i appreciate that peaceful times with the four true gods, yuemi and shanggu friendship, yuemi and tianqi frienship, and shanggu being her bubbly self when in love or baijue being shy and awkward, etc.

Your welcome. I hope you stick with it, and give it a chance since it does take a few eps for the plot to pick up. This drama can be divided into three parts, the first 16 eps are the god realm, the rest are in the heavenly realm. I started to miss the god realm once it was close, and just appreciate the time the main leads have together until things fall apart.

I can't imagine anyone else playing the fl after watching her. She has a natural beauty, and i just love it whenever she is show without makeup ^^

Qingmu and baijue is the same person, but baijue suffer so much more than qingmu when he has to hide his own feeling. Since i don't consider them separate from each other, i love them both for different reasons ^^

To this day, i still think she doesn't love the emperor and only uses him to climb the social ladder. At first for revenge, but later for survival. She knew once she admits she has feeling for him, he will become bore and move on to another woman, that's why she keeps him guessing about her feeling even to the end so she wouldn't end up like the previous two empresses. She's a smart and sensible girl, she knew once she became the emperor concubine, there is no way for her to turn back, so i disagree i think she has feeling for fuheng but she has buried it when he gotten married, and only when he died that she finally let it out so i think her promise to him is what she felt in her heart, but can't show it since they both would get in trouble if the emperor found out. Her reaction to his death is telling, she only reveal her true feeling when she was alone and promise to protect him in their next life, that is more than just to repay a debt.
