I know what you mean, mdl rating is not reliable anymore. Before people rated the drama for content, now they're rated for actor/actress. If we're going by the number of flowers certain actor/actress are getting we can tell it's all done by popularity.

Many xukai's pairings are not too popular on mdl hence the low rating, some of the actresses he paired with seem to have lots of haters as well especially ester and guli nazha. There were lots of bias against them when the drama first aired, for ester because of her voice, for guli nazha for her acting. I don't know how bad guli nazha acting was in her other dramas, but she was good in snow eagle lord, it's too bad that she's not getting enough credit for this role. For ester i'm surprised those people who complained about her voice could watched her other dramas, but can't watch her in sword and fairy, makes me think it's just an excuse because they can't complain about her acting or her look like some of xukai's other pairings.

Don't mind them, i'm so use to this sentence everytime xukai paired with a new actress. I doubt they're true fans of xukai if they would use his name in such a way to make him look bad when they said they dropped the drama because of the actress lol 😆

For the fl, she's a movie actress and rarely does drama, but she has a good reputation for being one of the best actress in china, and also the youngest to win multiple awards in acting. If you keep watching you mind change your opinion about her acting. I love this drama and one of the reason is i love the main leads acting ^^

Yeah the other sword and fairy that also aired about the same time stayed at 8.1 but the one with xukai and ester kept down rated when drama deserves 8 or above rating. It's also a coincidence that zls drama aired at the same time as ester's drama. I wonder if it has anything to do with fans of zls who were very vocal when her drama the last immoral got criticized by some of the fans of alp and as a result they down rated sword and fairy as revenge, and now ester drama is aired at the same time as zls's drama so they're at it again because they're afraid of competition 🤔

This is nothing, if you watch older dramas, this motif came up a lot and the excuse is it's for their daughter own good that they're forcing her to marry into a rich family. This mother in my opinion, she does loves her daughter and want to change for the better, some parents don't change and stay stuck in their old way it's kind of a culture thing, some parents adapt to the changing time, some don't and still insist they're senior so they think they've the right to push their own ideas onto their children whether it's welcoming or not in the name of love.

It all comes down to taste. I love all xukai dramas some more than others, but i agree with you about arsenal military academy and wonderland of love. Did you try watching ancient love poetry, if you don't mind the actress not being a great beauty, she got lots of complain for not looking like a goddess, but she and xukai acting are so good in this drama. His character was really strong and dominant, another role i like is snow eagle lord, his character was also badass 😎 although the cgi is not the best i still really enjoy this drama.

It would've been a better drama if it has less eps, it became draggy towards the end, xukai character was also weaker compare to novel, the sml kind of ruin my feeling for this drama too since it became more about him than the main leads. I also watch it for xukai.

I saw her also in wjy and xukai's page a few months ago, she really doesn't do zly any favor by making a nuisance of herself everywhere she goes.
