I don't have any feelings on the word "mid" cause I've only heard it used once or twice and it was referring to reboots or something but I can also see why it would be an annoying term for some.

Like sure, a ton of projects don't *have* to be made and they do just turn out "alright" but there are folks who still enjoy that.

Everyone doesn't *need* masterpieces to be entertained or to resonate with a project. Sometimes it just makes you feel good for whatever reason.

Like I will NEVER understand the epic appeal of Boys over Flowers (and all its iterations) but it somehow resonates with fans all over the world.

I'm guilty of prefacing my dislike of popular dramas by apologizing sometimes too.

I think it's because there's this weird feeling of by not liking it you're insulting all the people who do like it.

Plus also the judgement like you mentioned and the unofficial rules of conformity @pomegranate mentioned.

Yes! It's like the person who called this "terribly mediocre". I don't remember everything they wrote but they mentioned something like their metric for a "good" drama was more than fine or something like that and they mentioned The Devil Judge as a good drama.

I've never seen The Devil Judge but I know that this show & that show are of two different worlds. No one is saying this is breaking new grounds and is the best show in existence, just that it's a good or fine show for the world it's in (youth, friendship, school drama, fantasy)

I don't remember if I've mentioned this but one of Park Ji Hoon's best moment in this, to me, is the eye twitch when after he gets that wrong answer. It's like his last nerve genuinely snapped and I didn't even notice this until I watched a reviewer's video!

I guess that person isn't into fantasies where there's mental age gaps.

So no gumiho, vampire, reincarnation, deities with human stories for them.

I envy the folks who will be able to watch this and form their own opinions without this discourse influencing them.

Even when people *do* like it, they feel the need to write "but I wish they hadn't taken out the BL" or "but it would've been better with the BL"

It's almost like some folks feel like they need to apologize or have some kind of modifier to have positive thoughts or feelings.

Actually, that's kinda true for MANY dramas. People apologizing for liking or disliking a show. Why do we feel the need to apologize? It's so weird and kinda fascinating.

Yeah. I like the drama more but in general, I liked it alot mainly because I liked the friendships. It's also interesting, to me, how many different ways can they have Gray get into fights and win.

To be honest, I did skip over some of the other fights but I think I read most, if not all, of Gray's fights

Recently he was apart of a hand printing ceremony for the Blue Dragon Drama thing and I'm curious why. I don't know how old the award is, I think it's fairly new. My point of mentioning the "newness" is because I'm wondering if he was amongst the first winners so they were commerating that with the handprints.

Otherwise I don't really understand. Are they gonna do handprints for all winners in the future too?

One question I have about this, and I guess some other webtoon/manhwa turned drama adaptations, is why is it so hard to find the original. Maybe it's more accurate to say it's hard to find for foreign audiences with translations.

I have only seen the first chapter of the webtoon/manhwa posted anywhere. From what I understand, the whole webnovel isn't easily found (though I'm not sure cause no one actually talks about what happens in the webnovel. Actually, that's not accurate; one person did and they were saying some of the differences in resolution for Yi Yeon/Deuk Pal but I don't remember much). I don't even know if they were talking about whether that's how the story ended or if that was where the story was up to that point

Did this get cancelled or was it always meant to be a short series?
It's disappointing regardless because it's a good premise and could've possibly been inspiring for aspiring actors.

Gotta say, while I do understand people's criticisms or ire over this show, it's irksome seeing it unduly insulted. It feels like an insult to all the people who worked on it. It feels like an insult to the people who enjoy it. It feels like an insult to the folks it resonated with.

Whatever; it's repetitive to have the same argument. At least one thing everyone, in this particular comment section, has in common is we all feel slighted and/or dismissed over this show.

I feel similarly about the actor. I don't think he's attractive or charming enough to pull off this particular version of "he's a jerk but sooo hot that he's given a pass"
Totally a subjective take; I've seen others gush over him.

I personally sided with him about the assistant because he only asked her to send an email (from what I remember) which wouldn't have led to hours of overtime or even 20 minutes. Plus she hadn't been doing anything except watching her dramas up to that point.
He was way more of a jerk to Im Soon by giving her tasks designed to make her fail.

Exactly! They didn't even mention him aside from he was fired (for being a no show) and replaced.

A- there's homophobes who would've complained
B- there's the folks who are complaining about the mental age gap
C- the focus of the story would've changed to romance which is also unappealing to some because it was nice that Deuk Pal was just focused on trying better Yi Yeon's situation and encouraging the other people he encountered
D - many wouldn't have necessarily watched cause they aren't interested in BL content

My point is: no "everyone" wouldn't have liked it more. *Some* might have.

I think the best thing about this chemistry between the lead actors. Then is the action/fight scenes. Kudos to the stunt coordinator, stunt team, actors, and editing team. Finally the humor is blended well into this.

I think this show is one of the better youth/school focused dramas. It's definitely one of the better short series.
