You may be right! I suppose serial killers don't need reasons, but it would make the story more interesting for him to have one. And yes, they were definitely wanting us to notice the 14 vs. 15 years, and the grandma remembering her in a wheelchair in the present timeline. More to be revealed, I guess!
It doesn't look like Episode 8 will have another time skip, so why is everyone saying she'll go back? Cause there's…
Why did the taxi driver kidnap her in the first place, in BOTH timelines? Was he just being a creep preying on random girls who were alone? Wouldn't we have heard about more missing/kidnapped girls, if so? And then in the original timeline he just ran into her with his car--why? He didn't even try to hide his face from Sun Jae afterwards, so if he was worried about her snitching, he should have tried to hide himself from Sun Jae better, too. Still a bit confused by our creepy taxi dude...
It doesn't look like Episode 8 will have another time skip, so why is everyone saying she'll go back? Cause there's footage from trailers of them in the past which haven't been shown yet?
Does it seem like Sun Jae is picking up on something fishy with Sol in the original timeline, and putting the pieces together about her in one moment being familiar with him to suddenly not knowing him? It's a wonder he doesn't just think she's nuts. π
Also, Sol in the present is so gorgeous and lovely. π₯°
Episode 8 is when the Kdrama formula says couples get together or kiss, so, we'll see if tomorrow's episode follows form. π
My only gripe was I wanted more of them together in the present timeline rather than constantly missing each other. But it was funny, all the misunderstandings. It helped slow the pace down a bit. It was basically a filler episode (though it didn't feel like one) or an episode catching us up on the changes in their "fixed" lives.
How did Sol make it so that In Hyuk and Sun Jae were on better terms in this new present? (They totally bated us with that bath scene! π )
Agree. I want people to be more grateful for the writer eventhough some of her decision in this writing is questionable…
I need to see EAW, too, I just bungled things by watching snippets on Netflix and spoiling the story for myself, so it lowered my motivation to finish it. Whoops!
But DO watch CLOY, it's not a perfect drama, but extremely beloved for a reason (I think it got many, MANY people hooked on Kdramas (myself included)), and is just so beautiful and heartwarming. If you liked this well enough, I think you'll adore CLOY (it also holds up really well under rewatches, minus some of the side characters who I admit I do skip now when I rewatch it).
If you don't go into this season/part with expectations for what you WANT this season/part to be/do (beyond a happy ending), then you will most likely enjoy it. It's not perfect (neither was the first part), but it's still an excellent drama!
Keep in mind the FL and ML reverse/flip-flop roles from one season to the next.

CLOY is special; it just is, but you'll notice a lot of the same elements from QoT (big focus on side characters, a weaker second half, lots of cliches and tropes, bittersweet ending). CLOY just does such a beautiful job capturing people and their connections and has some beautiful themes. I haven't finished QoTs fully, but what I've seen so far is still not as lovable as CLOY. LOTBS is very endearing and cozy, so cozy, but it does drag a bit later on. Those have been my favorites by her! This drama seemed to lean more into the makjang genre, which I'm usually less into. I was hoping it wouldn't go so makjang, but it seems she went pretty all out minus some of the more sordid elements that are in some makjangs. The Korean audience does seem to love that genre of Kdrama best. π€·ββοΈ
True Beauty took a nosedive (in my opinion), in Episodes 15 and 16, and since this drama and TB were adapted by the same screenwriter, I'm just trying to keep my expectations low as we move further into the Kdrama danger zone where pacing can start to falter. I'm going to keep them extra low once we pass Episode 9 or 10 if they're still going strong by then.
I'm not the target for this type of drama, I think. I really wanted to love it but 4 episodes in and it's too…
It's rom-coming hard, so you've really got to steel yourself to face the secondhand embarrassment. If you don't mind that, and all the "swoony" moments, then it's a very enjoyable watch. But yeah, won't be everyone's thing, for sure.π

And honestly, her dramas ALWAYS have a weaker second half. It was true of every other drama I've seen by her (My Love From A Star, CLOY, and LOTBS all had slower/weaker second halves).
Have him survive a car crash and then follow with him getting shot and killed in the next episode? Unlikely.
I'll guess we'll see. People are already going nuts about Episode 15, so if he dies people will scream to high heaven. πββοΈ I guess in about 24 hrs we'll know...
Park Ji Eun has always focused on more characters than just the main romantic leads. I think she's consistent…
Yes, I get frustrated by that, too, but the drama was prepping for stuff about all those other characters from the get-go, though? The screenwriter was laying the groundwork for it from Episode 1. It does seem like it turned more makjang than people anticipated, I'll give you that. :)
