Title Queen of Tears Spoiler
Have him survive a car crash and then follow with him getting shot and killed in the next episode? Unlikely.
I feel like you can only one up that many bad things by having it end happily. I thought it was Hae In everyone was afraid would die, but now it's Hyun Woo? Again, it just seems like WAY too much. Even the amnesia bit shouldn't be a surprise; she had a brain tumor. If anyone would have memory issues after surgery it would be someone who had a brain tumor. It's a Kdrama trope, but here, it still fits into the story. And the actors warned everyone there would be a million twists, I guess they're just not the twists people wanted. 😏

Too many clichés... Someone has to warn Park Ji Eun, girl this ain't the early 2000s
She has always done cliches. It's her M.O. CLOY has them, too.

Second Half is a mess, that's sad. This villain/chaebol plot is so boring. It should've been 12 episodes and more…
Park Ji Eun has always focused on more characters than just the main romantic leads. I think she's consistent here.

Yes, their chemistry is undeniably good! Both are doing a great job! :)

It’s honestly not all bad but she’s been pulling these unnecessary “plot twists” just for cliffhanger…
And I want to make sure I'll enjoy it by waiting to see how it ultimately lands. 😂 I won't subject myself to this whirlwind unless I know the ending will be worth it.

My impression of the craziness right now is that it is everyone's visceral reactions to the evil SML still hanging around wreaking havoc on their couple's happiness. Their frustration is understandable.

I think the only people watching Nam Soon (and who made it to the end) were people who thought he was attractive, and while it's nice for the actors to be good-looking (and I mean, that's a pre-req for any K-actor, since the industry is so intense about looks), I can't enjoy a drama purely on looks, and many of the comments for that drama were getting gross, honestly. Some of the comments here are getting a little much for me, too. I don't spend as much time here as I normally would cause there's not much talking about the story/plot, which I prefer, and more about how attractive Sun Jae is... 🙄 I get it, he's cute.

Whew, Park Ji Eun whipped up a maelstrom over here! People are losing it. So glad it worked out for me to wait until the end to see if I should keep going. 😆

You got me curious 🙈🙈 can you explain it very vaguely?
Don't think a Kdrama would go that dark, especially this type/genre. At worst she'd get kidnapped, put in the trunk and tied up with a gag for a while. The serial killer's not social commentary but a plot device, so they won't go there, don't worry.

He's also an evil guy (albeit with a traumatic past, but that doesn't excuse wicked choices as an adult in my book) in Nam Soon, if you don't mind that. I did mind it, and so couldn't watch (it's also a very badly written drama overall). 😬

Eclipse debuted in may 2009. I guess before that he went to college. I think Sol will return to the past in March-April…
But that means he did college in a year (the past timeline Sol goes back to is 2008, their senior year)? 🤔 I'm thinking no college for him in the original timeline. His scores are super bad as of now--how could he have caught up? This is the problem with an athelete-only track. (What if you get injured?) Good looks and singing skills it is, then (for Sun Jae, at least)!

what's a kdrama romcom without a little murder :P
Haha, I'm tracking a bit better, I think! I appreciate you trying to explain. :) There is definitely still so much we don't know! And I don't want them to rush in telling us so we don't get too much too fast. It's a perennial issue with Kdramas.

Also another issue I see with your theory (if you don't mind me poking holes) is that in my perspective, it's doesn't seem that original, younger Sol had memory gaps that would suggest another version of Sol had used her body at some point. To me, it seems original, younger Sol just didn't remember clearly things that had happened with the accident and Sun Jae, since when she goes back to the past from the future these memories she lost were triggered and returned (which is why I suggested a memory lapse due to trauma rather than the kind of memory lapses we see with young Sol when older Sol is using her body). Haha, does that make sense? 🤔

Do you mean time travel on his part? I'm a bit confused what you mean by the time travel could cause her to forget?

It does seem like a recent trend! But True Beauty and Extraordinary You didn't have a serial killer/kidnapper in them. 🤔 I wonder why they felt the need to add it in this? I think it adds an unnecessary, unpleasant undertone; it would have been plenty sad and poignant without it. Maybe the trauma of dealing with the aftermath of something like that happening to Sol is their plot device to explain how she forgot Sun Jae being such a big part of her story in the original timeline?

This is cute. Ep 1 Radio DJ: The weather is amazing today. It seems like a sign of a dazzling summer. Singer Bob…
I love the soothing female voice over the radio; it feels nostalgic as it was common in Reply 1988, too, and feels like a blast from the past. It seems that was a thing high schoolers listened to in Korea when radio was more of a thing? I only have Kdramas as a reference for that, haha. It's very cozy, though, and and I love how dramas that are set in earlier decades do this. :)

Why? Isn't it doing well for a mon Tue drama. I am seeing knetz hyping up the drama.
@coolforthesummer talked about how this screenwriter probably knew it wouldn't do as well domestically (apparently True Beauty and Extraordinary You did way better internationally, and that's also why she probably did the love triangle, as those do better with international audiences as well), so she's writing more for an international audience. QoT is more the Korean audience's jam, as seen by its Nielsen ratings. It makes sense if the Korean audience is primarily women who are 30+ that they wouldn't be as into high school dramas, or the cutesy cringe you get in this. 🤷‍♀️

I'm not gonna lie, writing episodes around miscommunication in big 2024 is embarassing. It's like the easiest…
I feel like every drama has plot holes like this, they just look different depending on the drama (because almost all Kdramas have elements of weak writing in them). So, the question is, can you stomach them in this one or not? 😂 Like I couldn't do the suspension of disbelief in Weak Hero Class 1, with the rampant violent bullying and bloody fights in classrooms with zero accountability, but a lot of people had no issues with it. So yes, some weak writing here and there, but it can still be enjoyed despite that. Until people who see the plot holes get to write the dramas themselves, we'll still keep getting them (or as long as dramas with these plot holes continue to get popular/make money, we'll probably still see this kind of writing 🤷‍♀️).
