Watching this for the second time (on ep 24) and I totally forgot how much I love this cdrama. I think I actually like it more this second time around.

I agree with some others but had to add ep 23.. the whole water festival scenes are perfection. "Are you the Devil God, or are you Mingye. Are you my enemy or my lover?" Gets me squealing everytime.
I was toying between Tian Huan or Di Mian but choose Di Mian, as he is really pathetic, his motivation and his…
Same! Di Mian edged out for me because nothing hurts worse than the pain/betrayal inflicted by family. Then like you said, his reasons weren't even something someone could empathize with.
I love XK but can't deal with YSX's voice in other dramas. Is this good enough to where i can ignore her usual…
I'm 2 eps in and it's taking some time to get used to her voice and demeaner. Her pitch and tone is a bit jarring to me since I've been watching darker cdramas that don't have characters like hers. I also think she acts like a toddler in her speech and facial expressions but I do feel like I'm getting used to her character. I'm more interested in the plot so I can excuse it for now.
I just spent a few days binging this and I'm so shook. This was SO GOOD. Sorry I have to gush about it for a sec.I'm…
4. Fenglong.. is the bro. Just like his sister said...he's fully bro zoned FL even without knowing. Which is fine because he never wanted to be married. I think in s2 he and FL will def break up.
Oh and speaking of FL... I have mixed feelings about her. I liked her as a "man" mainly because she lived more freely and could express her more unique personality traits. As a princess she was increasingly whiny. She's still mature enough to know her faults so it's not the worst thing ever. Sadly I'm not invested in her love story from her perspective. She's pretty fragile... in an "walking on eggshells" way. Whoever she's with needs to be super understanding and patient. I think she could potentially find happiness and heartbreak with any of her options. It doesn't even matter the dynamic as long as someone is willing to stay by her side. It makes it easier to root for just about anyone (including Fenglong).
Anyway! that being said the actors rocked their roles. Everyone did such a good job ugh. I love all of them.

1. Xiyan Cangxuan is a freaking great ML. If we deleted all Xiao Yao's side of the story, his storyline could be a whole drama by itself. In terms of plot progression, he's my fav character. He had the most fulfilling arc. Plus his inspiring moments were top tier. I felt bad about his restrained "romantic" feelings for Xiao Yao but this man kept it classy. He gave the FL a true mature protector in the same way I could see a protective father to be.
2. Tushan Jing is PUPPY. He's adorable, sincere, honest, and innocent. The progression of his arc with FL amplified the cute aspects of being in love. It was light, feathery, youthful yet mature. Even though they both struggled, it was fulfilling too. They communicated well and understood each other. I felt bad for him with how he got trapped. He gave the FL the dreamy romantic novel kind of love...even until the end. Very storybook.
3. Xiang Liu is a heartthrob. Homeboy had my heart racing in his scenes. Gotta love the misunderstood "bad" boy. Sweep you off your feet but hella unpredictable with a dash of unhinged. Everything concerning him is risky and thrilling. At the same time he's the most pitiful of them all honestly. I felt bad for him more than any other character. Tragedy is written all over him. I'm actually scared to watch s2 bc I just know he's about to die. I dunno. he gives death flags all the time.
Just some recent receipts for TTEOTM, Luo Yunxi and BaiLu's 2023 performance 2023 Yunhe Annual Report TOP 10 DramasTTEOTM…
As it should be! Tteotm really rocked in 2023 for it to have been released âoff seasonâ. Actually Iâm starting The Knockout soon just to see the caliber needed to beat it. Based on the buzz around Hidden Love I expected it to be higher honestly.
Can someone suggest more like these gem of a drama?
Theres nothing quite like it. If youâre looking for something with a character dynamic similar to Yoon Jongwoo and Seo Moonjo with horror-esque vibes then the American series âHannibalâ is very similar.
If you want somethibg with hidden serial killers , sus characters, and misdirection then the kdramas âFlower of evilâ, âMouseâ, and âBlindâ are good. (Good plot twists too)
If you still want the eery, trust no one, everything is weird vibes, then the korean movie âForgottenâ is good. This has the same type of âscaryâ vibes. (Also good plot twist)
Honestly you can. The events of s2 are 2 generations after s1. Itâs a complete story on its own, but if you watch s1 later you might understand the origin of some stuff in s2
Omg I dont know how the og watchers survived waiting so long for the next season. I just finished this now for the first time and i canât imagine being able to wait so long. I need to know what happens next ASAP.
I want to watch it but something is stopping me. Can someone please tell me if the part that ML has memories of…
I just finished watching this. The 21st century thing is talked about heavily in the beginning and brought up every so often as an underlying mystery. The ML doesnt bring it up in his daily life all that much if thats what youâre specifically asking for. But he never forgets the difference between him and others. Have you seen the kdrama Mr. Queen? The FL there is always using the 21st century knowledge or at least referring to it.
So the overall plot is pretty bland bc ive seen this type of plot line many times over. Thereâs also some really badly directed scenes and the dialogue is too long in some scenes. That said I still enjoyed it. I dont think it tries to be something its not. Its mid but still comfortably so. Pretty chill and enjoyable experience.
Im on ep 15 and love this so much. Ren Ruyi has to be my new fav cdrama FL. I have a list of 3 now including (Wei Yingluo from Yanxi Palace and Feng Qiwu from who rules the world). Liu Shishi is amazing. I need to watch her other roles.
Also Liu Yuning is so charming. Heâs actually good at being physically imposing while still being cute and awk in front of the FL (and Shisan) . His character gives me puppy vibes.. not the golden retriever type but some sleeker breed like a doberman but with a soft personality like male dobermans can have. Not sure why some dont like him here.
Missing bad buddy so came by to check here again. I had no idea it was going on viki so i guess its time for my…
Its also fun to read through the recent comments. No matter what side people take when it comes to their opinions, this series is goated and firmly cemented in thai bl culture and discourse. i love that. đ
Just watched this plus the sequel back to back. I found both of them to be well written stories in their own ways. I really enjoyed the characters here way more. There were so many different personalities and I thought even the minor characters were great. I didnt even dislike the bad ones.. they did well in their roles too. I had so many favs here. Def will rewatch
Turns out I liked the themes of this one more than the 1st one. However there were more characters I liked and cared about in the 1st one. It was hard for me to get into the sequel at the beginning because i was too busy trying to figure out what happened to my favs like Feiliu or wondering if any descendants remembered characters like the Dutchess or the Mu household Prince.
Once I actually got into the story I fell in love with the themes surrounding Changlin Manor (I love that whole family but especially Pingzhang). The only negative is that after ep 37 I basically stopped caring about everyone except 1 character so i felt i got annoyed and impatient more easily after that point. its still a great story with a good plot all things considered.
