Honestly, I genuinely thought Song Hye Kyo and Lee do hyun had good chemistry. I don't understand why people don't see their dynamic. They aren't passionate lovers, they're slow and steady. And the chemistry between them shined in moments where they didn't put up a romantic veil. This was more realistic romance than anything. It wasn't much of a romantic setting anyways.
Also in no way or form did I see any chemistry between Lee Do Hyun and Im Ji yeon and Song Hye Kyo and Ha Do young.
I desperately fail to understand how Lom thinks he's going to woo Nuea when he constantly affirms he wants this marriage with Yiwa. Honestly if i was Nuea, I would be so confused and hesitant and honestly, hate myself for having feelings. It would've been nice if Lom's plan went more of a "i'm forced to have this wedding" because IT WOULD MAKE SENSE. But i'm on ep 3 and Lom is giving so much MIXED SIGNALS.
Plus this entire, "i'll seduce you" trope isn't working because the overall tone of the show is sorta comedic. even with a shitty plan they could've honestly made it more sexy and used more subtle skinship to show palpitating tension between both of them. The inherent idea actually has a lot of potential, "Guy wants to woo a wedding planner, so he fakes a wedding just get his attention." its painful to witness how poorly MAME has used a trope that could've given us something akin to a spicy rom com.
I couldn't have said it better myself! The first 5 episodes were just okay, so I had a time where I kinda left…
Oh my god yes! I honestly wasn't impressed and stoved it away despite it's popularity but i simply skipped it to a certain episode and felt myself watching from then. I truly think it's a drama to be held as the standard for school dramas.
Our secrets in lattice was my biggest disappointment....everything wrong in that drama was done right here.. Cdramas love making fl's that are ditzy and have their world centered around the male lead, but Su Zai Zai isn't.
For the first time, we see a girl, just like all of us. She's cheery and has a crush, but instead of letting it consume her entirety, she approaches it gently and normal. She works hard in her goals and even advises Lu Rang to be "better" together in diff universities. And Lu Rang isn't "cold hearted" and treats her like crap from the beginning, he's unsure and surprised but welcomes the friends that come together.
In a sense this drama rewrites the standard cdrama tropes--the ML isnt a flawless class topper and the FL isn't just a "girl in love". They have their worlds, a part of which they share together. It's a drama you can rest in ease with not much frustrations.
PS: First five episodes weren't memorable, and was quite cringe. But when they set as friends together, the story delves beautifully. I suggest either fast forwarding or skimming thru recaps as it's what I did after ep3.
although it is quite incomplete story wise...a 7.7 is way less for this cute drama. I'd give it a solid 9, it certainly has a lot of green flag behaviour that i wish bl's could follow-
i do wish there was a second ssn cause i would LOVE to see if his luck changes or seemingly gets better. THEYRE SO CUTE T_T
YESYESYES-- I kind of want to also see Shin do hyun or Shin Hye Sun. I think these actresses deserve to get the…
Agreed! also, althought i love LDH i wished we saw Won Jin ah or Ahn So yo, they have that visual of the quirky teacher and maybe Kim seulgi in Arin's role. The webtoon is very society based and a little serious so i wish we got a little more pro actresses.
as I understand it, there is no clear male protagonist, because webtoon is written in the form of an anthology,…
YESYESYES-- I kind of want to also see Shin do hyun or Shin Hye Sun. I think these actresses deserve to get the spotlight. I like Arin but she really doesnt suit this role.
i liked the actress that he was paired up with in Doom At your service--she seemed to match his powerful vibe but also seemed to fit well with the rest of the cast.
Never thought I'd see a cdrama pan out so well--even put some kdramas to shame. From the cast to story everything was fun but also emotional. A little too idealistic for my taste, but I'd say it was not too crazy to not believe at all. Great cdrama.
she needs to pick better scripts with a good female character. and maybe stop the botox cause I loved her in Graceful Family. She has a seemingly soft but harsh look and can put it to good use.
I've seen the fl and she definitely isn't that horrible of an actor as this series shows her to be. Graceful family and My ID is Gangnam beauty were both two varying dramas and she did well. Her face does feel stiff, which i feel like is from fillers? but i think she's a good actress. The story was just horrible in terms of writing good characters.
There is often logic missing in many Korean dramas.. For example every supernatural or time related drama, they…
Yes since thr show was enjoyable i was able to let go of certain inconsistensies in rhe plot. Its just that i wished they changed the order of some scenes to make it make sense.
But...the chemistry is INSANE. They actors did their parts well and i loved that they were able to break out at least some sterotypes. The fl literally acted like her badass self which is why i guess the role felt more authentic. Its a very good rom com.
I absolutely loved the FL. But what the hell is up with the 'im not the other girls' trope? So if a woman is not as strong, isnt as kind and isnt as fun-- is she not a suitable female lead? They pushed the idea of 'strong, enaging woman' too much that it became overwhelming. Honestly even if it was taken at face level, it feels weird seeing how the bestfriend is shown pathetic for being true to her emotions and wanting to find love. The way the writer wasnt even able to write one female character without giving them a characteristic that depended on a man was INSULTING.
Plus, the idea of feminism and being in relationships are completely different tracks. You can be a feminist and still fall for someone, act a fool and feel fluttery. Feminism is simply wanting equality aka a woman like our fl has no right to be shamed for having an active sex life. But to make her have an active sex life because she wanted to "play the game" or because shes "cool" is not what we are standing for.
Also, her love life was messed up because she went to people who werent serious about love. Unlike her bff shes not a jaded lover and i hated that portrayal. Not all men cheat, not all women are selfish. There seems to be no gray zone for characters at all.
I also hate how they never broached onto fl's father's patriarchial nature. That wouldve given me better reasoning as to why fl seemed to not trust men.
