The central theme, story and characters were extraordinarily engaging and everything else were extraordinarily sloppy!!!! The entire Seoul police department is clueless except inspector Kang and she can do anything, be anywhere and yet doesn't do much with ALL the information she has!!! The hospital machines are beeping for a highly compromised patient for some time and no one (nurses, doctors, even a fly) notices!!! So the hospitals are broken! All these violence happen in classrooms and in broad daylight yet there is only one homeroom teacher who notices and no one else!!! So the education system is non-functional!!! The narration is full of such and so many holes that it was difficult to overlook. Yet, the theme, message, the friends and their interactions were heart shatteringly beautiful and sad. I was directed towards this one from "The Glory"'s comment section. It was a very engaging watch. It made me immensely sad and I was throughly invested the whole time. But the discrepancies were too much to handle at times. In my opinion that is. But as a psychological thriller, it is top notch.
Just finished S1. I think Do Young will support his wife. At least at the beginning. There is a probability (in my head :-) ) that he might become the stornger villain in S2, otherwise why was he laid out like a man capable of doing anything for what he wants yet none of his bad deeds were shown to us. I think his is the only character whos character arc was not fully shown to us. All the other characters arcs were laid out. Dong Eun will have to go full force. She has worked hard and meticulously to reach her goal. It is what happens after she achieves them is what I am looking forward to see. I hope she finds peace, salvation and happiness. She breaks away from her deamons and flies high. I am not sure how Yeo Jung's story will merge with the main plot but I am sure writer's have thought about it and there is a reason for us to know about his back story in such details. In short, I am quite intrigued by this. But I will wait till S2 ends to watch. I cannot take the weekly anticipation. I do not see how this could end well but I do want Dong Eun to thrieve in happiness. My 2 cents.
Up to ep 3, I understand where the director is trying to go (at least I think I understand) but it's not landing for me. Like the cinematography though.
I am not sure if I understood the ending. I do appreciate the subject matter. The struggle from going against one's religious faith and being true to oneself generates a lot of internal struggles. But what was the message: homosexuality is a sin and as long as you accept that you have sinned, God will forgive you? I don't know, I was unsure of this. I liked the subject matter for sure, it needed better execution but I am sure the budget was tiny tiny so I would say they did a good job of bringing a complex subject on screen.
TBH, I am getting a bit tired of waiting for the FL's Power(!) to be awakend!! More than half of the series is gone and we are still seeing the FL being consistently rescued and protected by the MLs. Getting a bit tired of this narrative !! Yes, the series has season 2 and the storey will carry on, but I like it when each season can hold it's own. The MLs are hot as hell, the CGIs are good and I will ofcourse watch till the end but I hope the story picks up.
