Well, The Wolf Princess (a recent Mango TV drama) got resubbed/properly subbed on Viki actually, so let's pray to drama gods & send requests to Viki in case they sub this one, too!!!
For anyone interested, this is the WeTV official link (subs for the first 12 episodes can be found for now, depending on your region, and your vip/no vip status): https://wetv.vip/en/play/gv2duqsbmsgv09g
Thank you! :)Ooh, the Code of Honor! Yeah, I did miss a lot of Wuxia aspects. It was really hard for incorporating…
Well, you did mentioned (always) helping people in need, that's one of the most important "rules". :) I think some others are about repaying both the good & the bad they do to you, not to be intimidated by power in the face of righteousness, be filial to your shifu, respectful of older generations/etc., and a bunch of other stuff I'm forgetting about atm!!
Some of my favourite scenes in Jin Yong adaptations wuxia include stuff like that, and the absurdity/hilarity that ensues! E.g. in Legend of the Condor Heroes, the heroes save the Villain's life, so he can't kill them afterwards because he can't be ungrateful to his benefactors! Or in Demi Gods and Semi Devils, when the Crocodile (one very funny villain) accidentally becomes Duan Yu's pupil (despite being much older than him), and he tries to make sense of the differences in generation, while trying to stay filial... xD
Thank you very much for this article!!! I was looking forward to it!! You did a great job explaining everything!!! ^_^
If there was one tiny thing that's missing is the explanation of the "code of honour" that most wuxia heroes have/ought to follow, but I guess that would take another full article to explain thoroughly, so I don't really consider it an omission.
I thought Untamed was a Wuxia drama but I remember it was in the category for xianxia. Although most of it has…
Yes The Untamed is a Xianxia, although it has many Wuxia elements as well! The difference with other xianxia dramas is maybe that there's only one sect with actual immortals (Wei Wuxian's mother's sect), while everyone else *tries* to become immortal... And a major clue that it's a xianxia and not wuxia is that they fly on their swords!!
One interesting thing I have observed in MDL is that each user has his/her own preference of where they like to…
Oh yes, we've talked about writing some kind of series of articles "Historical Drama Club Presents: ..." or something like that, but I don't know if this idea will come into fruition! Many users (like @WandereR, writing that post) are an information treasure themselves! :)))
Tried to watch it, but the subs on Mango TV are auto-translated! Managed less than 10 minutes & my head hurts already trying mentally to make the translation to their translations, lol!!
Seems interesting, but I'll wait until there are proper human-made subs to watch...
She was excellent as a villain in The Sword and The Brocade, I hated her character to the guts lol, and she nailed the role, up to the tiniest (hateful) expression!! So I can't wait to see her in a main lead role!!!
Anyone knows if Viki's going to replace the original 1-6 with the reshoot episodes 1-6 on their platform? I would like to confirm if they'll do (or have done) or not before I start watching it, I'd prefer to watch the finished product and not the inconsistent one (with two different actors playing the same character)!

Regarding "Therefore, we need to see more articles on costumes, whether it's the clothing, makeup, and/or accessories, in modern or historical dramas (actually there is none written on historical costumes)." --> You can check out https://kisskh.at/discussions/general-asia-forum/59877-historical-dramas-club?page=4&pid=1618883#p1618883 (and other posts in Historical Dramas Club!!!) :)

For now, a good idea would be to send requests to someone like VIKI so they'll license this drama & add subs:
