Thank your for sharing this article! I do prefer my drama to have a HE, but I've also learnt to appreciate sad…
Actually, Bloody Romance has an Open Ending, many people said there were hints all over that the ML survived & the head shadow guy lied about it. There are hints on where he is at the poem at the fan at the end, and the very last scene probably shows some place he may reside now. All these could be addressed with a 2nd season, but I don't think it's ever happening... :/

Thank you ^^ Out of this list, I think you'll like Guardian and Neko Zamurai the most.
Btw, there's both movie(s) and drama(s) versions for Neko Samurai, with the same lead actor. Where should I start?

Congratulations on your first article @Misunderst0_od!! What a cute subject for it! ^.^ I've only seen "I'm a pet at Dali temple" from them.
[*Quickly adds all dramas mentioned she hasn't watched into her high-priority PTW lists*]

So where did everyone find all episodes being uploaded? Are they anywhere with English subs?? 'Cause on WeTV there's just the expected 2 new episodes today, even for VIPs!

Thank you for this article! It is one of my favourite dramas I've seen this year, exactly because of all the points…
For your P.S. question, any version of any Jin Yong novel adaptations would do. "Heavenly Sword and Dragon Slaying Sabre" 2019 version is a great place to start. "Legend of the Condor Heroes" & "Return of the Condor Heroes" - any adaptation/remake - (from the same trilogy, but they can be watched/understood alone) are also great.
For pure comedy Jianghu happenings check out "Your Highness" as well.
Also try "Bloody Romance", is a unique, dark wuxia/fantasy drama.

Hey, I loved your article & read it all despite it being so long, so that must mean it's well written! ^_^
I must admit I am surprised that anyone thought of this drama as under the radar, it was all people talked about during its release and a while afterwards, at least at Chinese drama-related circles.. In fact, I've delayed watching it till now because of the hype, I wanted it to die down a little so as not to have unrealistically high expectations about it. I'm glad you reminded me of its existence now that it's been a while with your article!! :)

My first Cdrama and i'm impressed. historical is my favorite genre and i'm sucker for truly smart characters.…
Nirvana in Fire 2, The Rise of Phoenixes, Joy of Life, the Story of Ming Lan (this one is more romance & slice-of-life focused, but it has the most intelligent female character I've ever seen in a historical drama), and Six Flying Dragons (though that's Korean).

Also does anyone know where I can find who the voice actors for this drama are?
If I'm not mistaken, unlike most Chinese historical dramas, most of the main actors for this drama voice acted themselves!! :)

I just watched the 2 trailers for his upcoming drama Dating in the Kitchen, and just wanted to note (once again, not that I didn't already know before!) that this guy is Hot as Hell!!!

Title The Untamed
What should i do? This drama left a deep hole in my heart after finished watching. I miss the duo so bad.. T.T
Welcome to the club, many of us have been there for a year! After finishing the novel & all the adaptations, I personally go to bed with a new WangXian fanfiction every night, what can I do? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think the reason I have a hard time getting into historical dramas are because I don't know that much about…
It's funny you mentioned it, I used to not know anything about SE Asian history, and as you a lot about Western countries history, though I always loved historical series/movies from before I started on Asian dramas (I also loved The Tudors btw)! And then I started watching Asian historical dramas without knowing anything about their history (I think my 1st one/one of my 1st ones was Jumong) and it was fascinating! It was like being transported into another world, one that I didn't know anything about, and slowly but steadily figuring out the customs, "rules" of this world, discovering the history of these places and eras I used to know nothing about (it helped also reading the Wikipedia page of the place/era/dynasty/king while or after watching too)!! Now I mainly owe my knowledge of Korean/Chinese history to historical dramas, they're quite the journey, don't hesitate to try watching some!!
