Song Lan x Xiao Xingchen (the 2 cultivation buddies, who may or not be "cultivation partners" in the eh hmm... traditional sense ;) They definitely loved each other much, and Xiao Xingchen even gave his eyes for Song Lan!!! :o
and
Lan Xichen x Jin Guangyao (These 2 are sworn brothers, but Lan Xichen would never believe a bad thing said about his A-Yao, and at the end he was even ready to die for him!)

Anyway, these are the only canon pairings, but the author herself has said, just feel free to ship anyone with anybody, as long as you don't split our dear WangXian!! :)

And should I mention that, although the novel isn't focused on the romance, the romance is like a 10-15% of it, and there's so many things going on in the plot, the romance aspect of it is still, in my opinion, the most romantic love story ever told, ever!! Or at least at the top 5 of most romantic tales ever told ever, in at least a century, in any medium!!! *_*

Well, it never happened in the King in Love, a trio in a Korean historical drama, can you imagine that?? XD Just in my mind, it would be the perfect ending since they all three loved each other very much, and the best scenes were the ones when the 2 beautiful boys and the 1 beautiful girl were all together!! But it was one of those cases, when the girl could stay with either one of the two, and no one would mind, she did choose one at the very end, but anyway... :D
Yes 90% of romantic Chinese dramas have one it's their thing/trope like flyingI just roll with it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The worst kind is when a 2nd female lead (or 2nd male lead) is just obsessed, when there's obviously no attraction to her (or him). The good kind is the one like "The King Loves" for example, where they're all friends, and the lead seems to have feelings for both - and they both equally deserve her.
I'm still going to watch Dr. Cutie though, I can't help it cause I love gender bender!! :D
