I appreciate your review, even though I don't agree with you, lol. I also really appreciate you took the time to watch it completely before judging it/rating it/reviewing it! I'm getting tired of all the haters for the sake of hate - your review, although mainly negative, it's at least understandable.
By the way, I suggest you DO check the novel, it's of course even better than the drama, and it may even make you show a better appreciation for the drama itself - may make you want to rewatch it, lol! :D I was also never into bl or yaoi or shounen ai, but I became a bl fan after reading that novel/watching the drama haha (although, let's face it, the romance wasn't more than 20% of the plot of the novel, and it was a SLOW burn! But still the most romantic story of the century imo - you'll understand why once you've read it! :D )!! And now nothing can compare with it... :(

CQL=Chén Qíng Lìng (陈情令)=The Chinese name of the drama The Untamed!
It literally means something like "The Old Passion's Command". It also has a double meaning, because Wei Wuxian's magic flute, that he used to command the undead, is also named Chen Qing!

Suibians=The name given by Tencent to the international fandom of The Untamed! It comes from Wei Wuxian's sword, that's named "Suibian", that literally means "Whatever"! So, we as the fans, are "the Whatevers" XD :'D

Song Lan x Xiao Xingchen (the 2 cultivation buddies, who may or not be "cultivation partners" in the eh hmm... traditional sense ;) They definitely loved each other much, and Xiao Xingchen even gave his eyes for Song Lan!!! :o
and
Lan Xichen x Jin Guangyao (These 2 are sworn brothers, but Lan Xichen would never believe a bad thing said about his A-Yao, and at the end he was even ready to die for him!)

And should I mention that, although the novel isn't focused on the romance, the romance is like a 10-15% of it, and there's so many things going on in the plot, the romance aspect of it is still, in my opinion, the most romantic love story ever told, ever!! Or at least at the top 5 of most romantic tales ever told ever, in at least a century, in any medium!!! *_*
As for the pairings in the novel, the novel may be bl, but it's not that much focused on the romance aspect. Even the main pairing is a slow burn!! I'm mentioning the pairings bellow in a spoiler, read at your own risk!!
