Title The Untamed Spoiler
In novel WWX comeback with MXY body and see make up hanged ghost. (Look ugly)But after he wash his face actually…
That's in the novel, we're talking about what happened in the live action drama, The Untamed, instead!

My theory, as others have proposed, is that wwx came back into mxy's body, but his soul made his face look like his old self (in the sense that "people's souls can be 'read' in their eyes, expressions, face"). I say his face, and not body, because obviously he's not in his old body, except for the fact that the body is, you know, intact, he doesn't have the Wen seal's scar in his chest.

Now another point I would like to make, is that the creators made this whole thing vague on purpose for the very same reason the made other things in the script vague as well: the f censorship. From what I understand, raising the dead & resurrecting is a banned theme in Chinese tv, especially if the hero/protagonist is doing them! It's for this same reason they vaguely made Wen Ning not die and brought back as the first conscious living corpse ever made (as in the book), but implying he never actually died, but his conscience/spiritual awareness was temporarily lost, and WY brought it back somehow. (A support for this is that he can be seen eating in the drama, in 2 occasions, whereas in the novel he regretfully couldn't eat! But he could cook, lol!)
And for the same reason the bodies controlled by the Stygian seal/yin metal are depicted as puppets, aka ex cultivators that were cursed by the evil magic/energy and lost their spiritual conscience or something.
I'm not very clear on that myself anyway, I was rewatching the first episodes today and tried to pay more attention and make sense of it, too. The only thing I'm 95% sure (still leaving a 5% of doubt out) is that it has to do with the Chinese government censorship. :(

No kissing or outright confessions, but there *are* confessions if you look for them. But for me as a viewer I…
For people who need outright love confessions, they are there in the character songs, clear as day!! :) (Also, did you guys see the new WuJi song, wangxian version, with the lines of supposedly Lan Zhan's diary in it????)

OMG LOVED IT SO MUCH, at first the 50ep seems like a long drag but then it captivated me immediately and i love…
The novel is the complete thing, not to be missed, I'd recommend you start there!! I'll not even comment on how perfect & satisfying it is (because I'm definitely biased, lol)! You may want to rewatch the drama after you finish it, to see the hints & Easter eggs that you missed!

If you're REALLY not into reading novels, I'd say go to the audio drama, is the only other faithful AND complete adaptation there is, and it's 90% subbed into English already!!

The manhua is also really faithful to the novel, but it's only about 30% complete, it will take YEARS before it covers all the novel content.

As for the donghua, is fun for what it is, many people SWEAR by it, and it's really well made, but still, no bl content there, and it's still not the complete story, the next season will be out on 2021 maybe. But it's good and it's short (23 episodes total), so you can watch it between the other staff easily.

It would be even more helpful if there was number of people next to each category rated! (And if the average score was a weighted average, based more on the number of people who have actually watched at least 50% of the drama, but I know this is a long shot and maybe too complicated to implement.) Thanks!

This is a great addition to the site, definitely a step into the right direction!! Usually a drama's rating when it's still being watched (or when it hasn't finished airing yet) doesn't reflect the drama as a whole, and that's why I believe these people should just rate individual episodes instead of the actual drama. But at least this new stat will help define the rating score better!!

Maybe MXTX decided to use that date because it is related to Halloween? I don't know the reason but I wanna say…
I'm so envy of you!! Don't have any lotus here (roots, seeds, or flowers), and even sake is very rare to find... But I did drink some regular red wine (grape), and ate some figs with it (does this count? :D )!! Happy Birthday to our dear boy, may he be ever smiling like the sun with his life (Lan Zhan)!!!

Is there romance in this? Thanks in advance to whoever replies!Update: I started watching and finished episode…
It depends...
Do you consider it romantic if a man cares for you, show you his love through one hundred & more quiet actions, without a word? If he looked at you as if his hearts gonna break when you're sad, and as if you're his all-needed sunshine when you're happy? Do you consider it romantic if the man always believes at you, stands there with you, protects you, even as the world condemns, hates, or tries to kill you? Do you consider it romantic if a person is shuttered with grief, frustrated with guilt of letting go of you, but never gives up on waiting for you, every day, in agony, FOR 16 long freaking YEARS, playing songs to attract your scattered soul, in vain, until you return? Do you considered it romantic if the said person & the person who finally returns have their own song together, named after them, playing it to recognise each other, and, at the end, calling each other through it, returning to each other with it?

If you answered YES in any of the above, then yes, I would say there is romance in this!! :))

You got me, I'm in AO3, almost all day, every day, these days, reading fan fiction! I also started my own au mdzs…
It's an alternative universe, early 20th century-like setting, with cops and gangsters, but it's too early to tell anything else, or share it. I'll probably post when it's at least 30% complete!! Thank you for your interest!!

There are separate tags for The Untamed (TV) and Módào Zǔshī (novel), but many fanfics are tagged with both.
Do share your fanfic here if you do write one (or pm me), I'll do the same when I finish mine!! :)

AO3 is an abbreviation for Archive of Our Own, https://archiveofourown.org/
It's a non-profit site for hosting fanworks of all fandoms, preserving them, providing access to them, and organising them.

You should definitely read the novel first!! :))

Then you could start here,

https://archiveofourown.org/tags/%E9%AD%94%E9%81%93%E7%A5%96%E5%B8%88%20-%20%E5%A2%A8%E9%A6%99%E9%93%9C%E8%87%AD%20%7C%20M%C3%B3d%C3%A0o%20Z%C7%94sh%C4%AB%20-%20M%C3%B2xi%C4%81ng%20T%C3%B3ngxi%C3%B9/works

(currently 8530 works)

and use the filters on the right according to your preferences/current whim!! I hope this helps!!

Okay, I know many of you here, like me, have "The Untamed syndrome" and can't move on or really enjoy other dramas anymore. But is there also any previously relatively avid reader, like me, that cannot move on and read other things, too, but just keeps rereading favourite scenes from the novel, or just reads Mo Dao Zu Shi fan fiction now and nothing else??? Or is it just me??
