Anyone else watching attentively as the numbers for The Untamed are slowly increasing here in MDL? For example now the number of watchers has reached 4k & I couldn't be more excited; I feel like a proud mother, watching her only child get recognised in the world, lol!! :3

Did you try using some adblocker?? I use uBlock Origin with Mozilla Firefox and never had any problem even with shady sites..

Hi! Just want to ask if can I watch this drama without needing to read the novel and not get lost and confuse…
You can definitely watch this without reading the novel, though sometimes the plot gets a little confusing, especially at the start. Maybe you'll need 10-14 episodes to get 100% fully immersed into it!! I read some people's comments who haven't read the novel that they rewatched the hole thing after episode 33-34 when the got back to the present, and then everything that didn't click before now did.. So maybe it needs a rewatch, kind of like Nirvana in Fire, after the mysteries have all get revealed, to enjoy it even better & notice the small details you didn't get the first time! Well, in any case, it's such a enjoyable drama, you'll not regret watching it!!! (The only people actually giving it very bad ratings [5 to 1] are, I think, either homophobes, or people who can't enjoy anything historical/fantasy in general so it's not their cup of tea)
So, I just edited the tag "Romantic Subtext", and added the description: "The romance between the characters is only implied, but it can turn obvious with a careful watch, if you read between the lines. It depends on your interpretations. The whole thing can be seen as a deep friendship. They call each other soulmates in some instances, but that's it, and no skinship either. For those of us that have read the novel, well that's a different story, definitely butterflies in the stomach material! ^^ But in any case, the story isn't focused on the romance/un-romance anyway, it really is a magnificent tale full of excitement, mystery, drama, action, betrayals, adventure, friendship, drama, laughs & tears, and more, with great humane themes that transcend its genre!!
For people hesitating to start an ongoing show, now is the time, the (subbed) episodes finish airing in two days, you can finally marathon it to your heart's content!! ^_^
YO DID I HEAR RUMORORS ABOUT EXTRA EPISODES AND A MOVIE? IS IT TRUE?!!!
The only thing confirmed is the upcoming web movie named "The Living Dead" or "Awakening the Spiritual Consciousness"or something like that. It will star Lan SiZhui and Wen Ning.

The drama is a really great adaptation of the novel --one of these rare cases where it follows the scenes & dialogues from the book almost word for word! But I do recommend reading the novel first or at least some part of it, because then there wouldn't be any confusion, not even mentioning how much things will click for you then & you will be able to read between the lines of the romantic subtext (in the drama) between the protagonists! Things are so much more enjoyable (for me at least) when you can actually imagine even things that didn't get into the show but you read in the novel into the drama, and watching the novel come alive before your eyes!!! ...They really did a great job with this adaptation!!!!
