Since this drama most likely won't have romance (which I'm kind of happy about), maybe it will be like Whispers of Fate, where you could ship the ML with pretty much any of the side characters π It's a stretch, but I wouldn't complain if that was the case ππ€·πΌββοΈ
Before I start this is there any bromance vibe in this? Or nah?
Oh yes, definitely a bromance vibe so far π It strikes a nice balance between the focus on the cases and the two MLs partnership. They have a lot of screentime together, and their banter is pretty entertaining to watch π
Coming in after the depression fest that was Archives: The Nanyang Mystery this is awesome. The lighter tone fits…
I'm coming off of Archives as well π And I agree with you about this show, it's really good so far and just what I needed after what Archives put me through, haha.
It is! A much needed change, because I just got done watching Archives: The Nanyang Mystery, and that show put me through an emotional rollercoaster ππ
First impressions: A pleasant surprise, because it's quite good! Nice production value, and not dubbed, which is refreshing. The acting is good and both MLs have some nice chemistry and play off each other well; yes, the bromance is bromancing so far π Sad that each episode is only 20 minutes each, but despite that nothing feels too rushed. Anyway, looking forward to the next episodes!
I don't want to ship Yohan with Gaon cause yk, but why tf does Ji Sung have such a strong gayze in this drama…
Yeah, I didn't want to ship them either for the same reason...because Goan looked almost identical to Yoan's dead half brother...but their chemistry was so strong in the show π΅βπ«, but it felt weird to ship because of that, so I tried not to. I really wish they didn't add that to the story though π. It was still a great show despite that, and I loved the two MLs complicated love/hate relationship. In the end, they really did care for each other a lot. It was one of my favorite watches of last year. I still haven't found anything quite on that same level yet.
Yes, it was clear they cut stuff from the final hug... In that final scene (b4 the hug), it was obv they cut stuff…
Yes, I saw those BTS clips π And you're right with how it was cut. I've probably watched most of the cut scenes that have been released. And the way camera zoomed way out while they were hugging and then how the door closed on them when the scene ended, almost reminded me of how they edit fade-to-black love scenes in Cdramas π€¦πΌββοΈ Which probably wasn't intentional, but it still kind of pissed me off all the same, haha π Like, they're basically brothers, nothing wrong or "gay" with showing them hug, especially at a pivotal moment like that...
Just finished the drama...and I have many thoughts. It was one of my most anticipated dramas of 2026.
First off, Ding Yunxi and Zhang Xincheng both did a phenomenal job in their roles. Hats off to them and the rest of the cast! The cinematography, fight choreography, and OSTs were also very well done.
I did get quite stressed and frustrated while watching this drama; it was darker, more violent and angsty than I was prepared for π π Not one I'd probably watch again any time soon, because of the emotional damage the story gave me ππ . But I don't regret watching it! I did end up skipping through just a few parts after episode 29, but nothing to miss major plot points. The obvious scene cuts because of censorship were frustrating (they're like brothers, goddammit, let them have their bonding momentsπ); I would've definitely rated the drama higher if things hadn't been cut π The hug (if you know, you know) in episode 33 - it was clear parts were cut from that very important moment tooπ€¦πΌββοΈπ Overall 7/10 for me. I know, lower than what most people have rated it, don't judge me too harshly π
Anyway, it was quite the journey, and hopefully it's not the last we'll see of the trio! π€πΌππΌ Now off to watch Ultimate Note!
So this is bromance only right? No romance between the leads??
Bromance only. But probably more of a focus on the plot than the bromance aspect. Although the show will definitely have bromance in it, judging by the trailer ππΌ
I'm on episode 23 (but I have watched and read spoilers about the ending) and the lack of screentime Hailou and Haixia have together is really getting on my nerves π The show really is at it's best when the two are together. And then knowing about those scenes that were unnecessarily cut because of stupid censorship π€¬ (this show isn't even BL, and even though they're like brothers, they still cut scenes...)π It's really a shame, because those scenes added so much context and depth to their bond. I'm still enjoying the show overall though, and the acting and everything is very good. Ding Yunxi and Zhang Xincheng are really killing it in their respective roles. I just wish they weren't separated for most of the damn show π
Can anyone tell if this will have romance coz I am quite confused seeing other dramas adapted from similar work…
I'm sure it will still be friendship focused ππΌ The ML is a womanizer, but I'm pretty sure he doesn't have a main love interest in this adaptation. The women in the trailer look like past flings he had π€·πΌββοΈ
To be honest seeing how Gmmtv is treating dew and tee I think this will be their first and last series together…
Yeah, I sure hope that's not the case π
I was really surprised how fast the they're releasing it. I know I'll still enjoy it, even if the editing and budget isn't the best. I suppose we'll have to wait and see though how it performs π€·πΌββοΈ

It's very anime opening style, but that's what makes it fun! Quite a banger βΊοΈ

This post has links to the wrap-up trailer π There's no official trailer yet.
