Yes,this. I gave a 7 (which is quite a low ranking for me) for Zhou Yi Ran’s acting that was on-point, and there were cute characters like Gu Xia and the stepbrother.

Same as everyone… so excited to watch this, Zhou Yi Ran has been on fire recently (first noticed him in Falling Into Your Smile, then The Bond, then LOVED in WIFTY)

But what a car crash of an ending (I seriously had to go back and check if there was something wrong with the episode count)…

Yup, that's what I was thinking (last week was a special case). On ep 29 and contemplating if I should watch 30 or leave it! The pitfalls of watching currently airing shows! And also trying to stay away from spoilers haha. But anyway thanks for your reply :)

I second your comments - I am actually quite a big fan of Zhang Yi Shan and thought he was great in this and really portrayed Qin Chuan well. I don’t think he is the most handsome either but he is definitely not ugly. And yes, Fan Cheng Cheng is more good looking but his character was definitely not the right fit for Xie Qiao (or any woman, for that matter).

Also, after the side chick’s pregnancy is found to be a ruse, I think she also said something along the lines of “do you wish that she (FL) was the one who got pregnant?” And then SML confirms that they never reached a stage where that would be possible

I just finished watching this show. In the last 10 minutes or so, there is a flash forward to 20 years (from 1990 to 2010). She (Xiao Min) married Hang Hai (unfortunately you don’t see any of their romance/dating/wedding) but it seems he permanently lives in the hospital (he has ALS). His life expectancy was only around 10 years after diagnosis but he already made it to 20. She says as long as he is still alive, she is content. So I would say it is a bittersweet ending.

Thanks for pointing that out. Maybe I missed it then (or is the diagram wrong?) but why does villain also call FL’s grandfather 外公 (wai gong)? Does that mean they are cousins? Or is it because she feels that as the god-daughter to the MiL (and by extension, to the ML) she also calls him as such how ML and FL call him? That would make sense from a naming perspective but why would she feel entitled to inherit the cloth dying technique then? Sigh, so confusing

What a weird intro above and wtf was that ending? I guess it makes sense-ish given the description above but as a viewer, not pleased.
