I was the same as you. I wasn’t really into it until episode 5, but since it’s such a high-budget drama, I didn’t drop it. It’s rare to come across a drama like this.
And after episode 5, I completely fell in love with it. Now that I’ve finished it, I gave it a 10 😂 Even I can’t believe it, considering how I felt back then. Keep going, it gets better.
The fight scenes are also really special imo. This is one of those dramas where the ML has his own unique fighting style, and I genuinely enjoy watching it. I didn’t really like He Yu in Speed and Love, but here… I can’t believe how much I adore him. 😭
Yeah, that’s just how her character is. But she becomes so much more lovable once she falls for the ML. Even though I’m not really into cold characters myself, I can’t help but love her cold act either, because Meng Ziyi is actually so cute and lovable in real life.
What is happening in episode 17? They suddenly ran away to where? And why did they become so deeply in love? The ML was clearly in love, but the FL was just acting like she wanted to make up for it, not that she really loved the ML. Then suddenly she says, 'I want to go on a date with you'? Also, where did they get the money to live together? Up until two minutes ago, the FL had no money and was trying her best to find some. The story suddenly got weird😂😂

It doesn't matter whether it makes sense or not, whatever it is, I'm going to cry anyway.😭 I don't know why in most modern dramas there has to be a long separation. First Frost, Lighter and Princess, you name it.

I really liked How Dare You. It had some of the best costumes, humor, and chemistry. Give it a few episodes and the story really pulls you in. This happens to me sometimes too, I’ll watch the first few episodes of a drama and drop it, then come back to it later and get so hooked that even I’m surprised 😂 Especially because it’s the only drama where I genuinely loved the character Cheng Lei played. I never got that same feeling from any of his other roles. I really don’t like that cold, neutral, sad type of character he usually plays.
So the title and promos should really be changed, it should be titled "I Loved the Moon and the Moon Didn't…
From the dramas of Cheng Lei that I’ve seen so far, I feel like this kind of neutral character is very similar to his roles in 'My Journey to You' and 'Moli'. I think 'How Dare You' is probably the only drama where he really played something different. And the kind of gray character you mentioned, maybe he already played one in 'Fangs of Fortune', where he had a supporting role. He was kind of villainous there.
