There didn't necessarily have to be a "reason" for getting a boner during the teens/20s. I remember being in class in high school, sitting at my desk and suddenly realizing I had boned out and was rock-hard. No sexual thoughts, no stimulation, no nothing. At that age boners come out of nowhere for no reason.

Happily, the phenomenon of mystery boners STILL occurs for me not infrequently. When it does, I take comfort in the reminder that it's not yet quite time for me to be put out to pasture. 😁😁😁

And it is difficult when you have a "woodie" as a youth, to go from sitting to standing without the offending member being noticed by one's classmates, so you try to make a quick adjustment as you rise so it's flat up against your pelvis.

Yup, men are definitely designed for procreation in a way that is unsuited to conventional Western cultural norms. We could impregnate a different woman every day of the year. 365 kids. But women can only produce ONE kid per ninth month period.

I'll probably be slammed for this because people don't like the truth, but the idea of one man and one woman committing to a monogamous relationship and having at most one child per year, is entirely an opposite arrangement from what the male body is DESIGNED to do.

Obviously, nature wants us to start having kids when we're 11 or 12 years old and the constant horniness sets in. However, if all of us followed that call of nature there would be pandemonium in our society, rioting in the streets, yes? Women's bodies prepare for child-production and birth at ages as low as 10. WHY?

I guess it is society's purpose to bring order to what otherwise would be chaos with our conventional, one-woman-one-man marriages and the expectation on men that we will not occasionally stray into what appear to be greener pastures, if you get my drift and I think you do. And yet, straying is exactly what our bodies tell us to do.

The rock-hard junk says "spread my seed as far and wide and as often as possible," while society tells us "don't have sex with anyone and don't masturbate because the Bible says it's a sin." lol I think masturbation should be encouraged for young men. It beats knocking up a different woman every day, and relieves that ever-present sexual urge, at least for a few hours.

I share all this, not to justify bad behavior, but to help women here better understand where us male friends, boyfriends, partners and husbands are coming from sexually; to place our sexual obsessions in context. We aren't TRYING to be disgusting sex pigs, we are by nature ALREADY disgusting sex pigs, and we fight our urges every f**king day. 😉😉😉😉😉

Oh yeah, I get that I'm not among a big crowd in pulling for Teh in IPYTM. But I also think people in general tend to get very judgemental when watching OTHER people make big mistakes and bad choices, as if they've never done likewise. You see, even if I saw it as Teh "doing Oh-Aew dirty," (he never had sex with the director, btw) why would he never, ever, forever be able to redeem himself no matter what he did? Have you never made major bad choices? Have you never been in need of forgiveness?

It's comical to me how some MDLers go off about "cheating" as though it were worse than murder or rape. Who among us has never looked at someone else with interest or lust while dating a different person, whether we act on it or not? Why is it ALL Teh's fault when the director clearly led him on the entire time?

Finally, why is it so important to you to condemn someone like Teh as beyond redemption? Cheating happens and some couples get back together and stay together, and it never happens again. Others break up over it, and still others get back together and maybe the OTHER partner cheats or the original cheater cheats again. It's called life. We all hope to do our best and we all fail because we are all flawed.

My amateur therapist take on this desperate need to condemn "cheaters" as forever unforgiveable comes from a place of insecurity. People feel that if they judge a wandering soul harshly for their crimes against romance, they're inoculating themselves against it happening to them.

I said they are "outliers," which means in this context they are far superior to and different from your average Thai BLs even though they were made in Thailand.

I remained Team Teh through IPYTM. I identified with his struggles to find some equilibrium between his head, heart and dick. Also, I very much admired the producers, writers, director and actors for being willing to explore a generally sympathetic character who does some questionable things. But wow, I despised that Theatre Instructor who toyed with him and his feelings/desires just to extract a desired performance from him.

In addition to what the other two commenters replied, I read that one cause may also be that we tend to dream more actively toward wake-up time and that especially in youth, many of these dreams are erotic in nature, thus eliciting a boner. This is where the term "wet dream" comes from too. In our adolescence and possibly for a while afterward, we have intense sexual dreams and climax without physical stimulation. This is caused by the simple fact that young males are RAGINGLY full of hormones, with sperm dripping out our ears and it has to go somewhere. Had I not enthusiastically embraced the joys of self-pleasure, I bet I would have wet-dreamed three times a week at that age.

I don't know if this is still true, but when I was that age, the morning erection was also known as a "piss hard-on" because, of course you usually wake up having to take a leak too, so the connection was erroneously made between the boner and the need to pee. I researched that decades ago though, and there is NO truth to the idea that a full bladder causes a full penis.

Women don't/can't fully grasp just HOW horny young males are. We are quite literally dying for sex almost 24/7 at that age. This reality excuses no bad behavior of course, but it is a FACT. And I admire when a show like this one acknowledges that reality about young men.
