Looks like the actors, characters and plotting that made Love Class a great watch are, ummm...not here in this series. Production company has a lot of nerve calling this "Season 2." It has nothing to do with Love Class Season 1. I wish it did.

I feel badly for all three having to act out this nonsense for six more episodes. It just keeps getting worse and worse. Episode 6 was almost entirely a time-suck. Shin talked to his doctor about not swimming and finding his destiny man? THAT'S the big revelation of this episode. The stupid watermelon thing on the beach was the most obvious time-wasting scene. Served absolutely no purpose. Then we're right back to shocked Minato shrieking "no touching, no kissing, no bathing together, no nothing, how dare you suggest such and thing...blah, blah, blah. And lovely Shin meekly accepts the insults and abuse as he readies for another night and day of emotional and physical frustration.
A real, human male of Shin's age, horny all the time and pushed away from his lover all the time, would have reached the breaking point weeks ago and either killed Akira or moved out of the house.
Sad to see Takeda Kouhei, who was so excellent in "Old Fashioned Cupcake," lowering himself to take part in this mess.
Finally, why do the costumers keep dressing Shin, who has a nice, lean physique, in huge maternity tops?

After really horrifying and believably monstrous, early scenes of torture this film degenerates into a Christian Broadcasting Network soap opera, pitting brainwashed Communists against a brainwashed Christian in endless, boring scenes of Commie-vs.-Bible Beater BS.
I don't believe for a minute that a loving God, if it exists, calls upon its followers to suffer torture and death for its "sake." A cruel and sadistic god? Certainly. But not a loving one. It's ridiculous.
Having suffered Christian brainwashing through 15 years of church, sunday school and parochial school, I know this type of film well. Its aim is to allow the viewer to feel they have suffered WITH the victim portrayed and thus have somehow attained a state of vicarious Sainthood without actually having suffered at all.
God loves. God doesn't call upon its children to be brutalized, ripped to shreds and murdered to pass tests of faith. No decent human parent would do such a thing, and yet millions believe the god of the Bible most certainly would and does. It's insane.
Not because of acting, direction, production or anything such as that. All was great. The problem is that so much of what is presented as having taken place makes no sense to me.
Some spoilers below:
MOST of the bad acts took place AFTER the first explosion of publicity, which revealed ONE-HUNDRED-TWENTY-SEVEN victims. How was the school not shut down immediately? How is it possible the principal was not fired or put on leave or even arrested at that point, no additional security in the form of human monitors/guards/etc. was added? Unmonitored, secluded areas were allowed to remain as such, etc.
How was there no continuous, focused and very public press coverage of what had happened? The public loves sex-related scandals of any kind. How could no large newspapers be covering this shit.
How is it apparently none of the suspected offenders were suspended or expelled during an intense investigation? How could the mother of the primary instigator not know ANYTHING about her son's alleged role in what had come out?
WHY would our hero agree to do what he did to the other boy in exchange for a pledge to leave the girl alone without first making sure there were no damn cell phone cameras running? The kid filming was doing so right out in the open! But more importantly why would he have believed such a pledge in the first place, coming from that group of cretins?
It gets worse: In what world would a kid who had already tried what the instigator tried toward the end of the film and was hospitalized for it, then be left UNATTENDED for ANY length of time, let alone long enough for either of the two hospital incidents to take place? And then it gets even worse: After the second incident, how would such a patient have been left alone to go up the f**king rooftop of the building?!!!!!!!!
I am going to research the actual events on which the film were based, but all of the above hit me as so absurd that it was difficult to lose myself in the ongoing tragedy/horror of the film and take it seriously as something that could actually happen.
FINALLY: I know I am supposed to understand because Asian culture is so focused on appearances over reality, but that is the freaking problem! I am so sick of parents in countless films and series whose first reaction to a death or injury or rape or most anything that happens to their child is "how could this happen to MEEEEEEE?" It's always me, me, me, me with these people. The mother outside the instigator's hospital room wasn't upset that he had tried to kill himself and might do so again, she was upset by how it mad HER feel. When the hero's mom saw the video of her son doing you-know-what, she immediately started crying because SHE felt bad about how it made HER feel, not upset that something so awful had happened to her child, oh no...it's all about HER.
I just want to slap the shit out of all these people. I assume it's an accurate reflection of Asian culture, as I have seen it a hundred times in films and series.
It does make sense that a bar-top would be the perfect height for giving BJs to your lover while you're still open for business. Fortunately, it appears to be an unpopular nightspot, so nobody came in.

I thought I'd stumbled into an extra-bad Pinoy BL so I checked but no, it's Thai. They're getting worse and worse. These shows are aimed at the lowest common denominator viewership. Viewers who keep watching such trash are helping destroy the BL industry.
