20. The comedic portion of the spy was nonessential.(what did he smell to fall. no matter what, who would leave an intruder in your room. Or is that a normal rich people thing i wouldn’t understand?) i also felt that the acting behind the screen was involuntarily on the view. Their giggles couldn’t be contained, obviously they had lots of fun filming and probably a lot of takes. BUT, it balanced out I feel. There were many deep moments when seriousness took over that were sad and heart pondering. Out on the patio, him talking about his past, how it affected his pathway and his parents view of him. Two people who are slowly getting to know each other. That confession at the end was not acting as they’re supposedly. I believe it is the truest of his heart whether he knows it or her believing it. (twelve episodes to go) That was beautiful but if I was directing, the kiss should of came naturally in pursuit. I guess the point of the spy had to be relevant (scoff). As we can tell at that parting, it’ll be back to square one but, the wheels are half way through for the inevitable.
Didn’t care too much for the cos-play but the ending of 19 was significant to me. In their conversation earlier he still thinks of their marriage as a career boost for her. The auto guess though at end is the revelation of how detailed their relationship was, those small things like bandaging, actually meant a lot. Embedded in their memory was a moment that was bonded. Interesting.
So many like me see it opposite. Hope you find the perfect drama that fits with you.
My point. It’s totally sticking with me, everything. I can feel every emotions of characters, the points of dialogue, the flow of episodes and its contents, etc. Exactly how I’d like a drama to be. Sure, come on back for final analysis discussions when it’s done and meanwhile, find your happy place.
I would love it if she rejects him at the end. A man that calculative no matter at what cost and carefully plans…
Funny I was just responding to something of the same line of your thoughts. There are so many dramas floating around (particularly cdrama, short) where I am foaming with the way fl’s (married plots) are mistreated i am aghast at even the minds behind such productions. Not all but most end up together??? Qualities of HaoMing i see: respectful to his parents, loving and protective of his brother/son, never mean and always treated YuYan like a queen. Now of course his agenda wasn’t good from the gecko, but he has good qualities that if truly repent fully and make amends of the heart, he like anyone can be turned from good to bad. I respect your opinion but that’s just how I see him.
18. Hao Ming in the midst of his busy business dealings asking his assistant how XuYun was tells us that definitely the wheels are turning. He does care more than he realizes and I’m happily loving the she fell first he fell harder arc. Let him grovel and earn it though. :)
I saw a clip of Wen Zheng Rong (hao mings mom) watching the drama and gleefully cheering Lusi when she appeared. Also saw clips showing random people in china (old to very young) glued to the show. I imagine all the people from remote villages too who Lusi supported watching in support. Many celebrities donate which is great and wonderful. Lusi just after recovery from her illness and still not quite fully was already remorseful to her fans and making compensations (for some cancelled events, etc). In her most vulnerable state that wasn’t appealing (perspective of her career), she cared so much for people she approved being filmed to bring awareness to people so they might not suffer from her disease. She visited remote villages of farmers and brought awareness to their products which in turn had people buying. Why is Lusi so well loved? If you want people to say kind words about you while you’re alive, do kind deeds that eases the struggles of others. She has a magnetism that flocks the many.
I think what she pointed out to him during that conversation was also important. The way they both perceived showing…
What’s nice about watching well made shows is being able to expand our perspectives to the random of life that may or may not be applicable to our own, yet experience it through the lens on screen. No matter what though, there’s tons of themes that does apply to everyone.
Lies never get you nowhere in the long run. Short term solutions but it catches up. Solutions can be soft or unredeemable in in aftermath. I’m glad this one is presenting more of a soft redeemable side. Both leads have baggage’s that led them to this facade. However, they are good people at heart who just need to find their true worth and discover what they mean to each other. I’m rooting for them.
He still doesn’t get it. He pity’s her, still sees her unfortunate side of life. Compensation? All that she did for him in marriage were purely out of love and support. The business partner with the old mother told him she continues to visit his mother. The remnants of her genuine care for Haochen seen in the scrapbook. And so on. He still doesn’t know her and she saw that again in his pitiful offer of a charged card. Good for her. Walk away. The difference in their deceit was that he needed her. She on the other hand loved him. Until he knows her genuine qualities, he doesn’t deserve her.
Wow, this drama is very hot: 32,000 is it record high of all times?. The thing is that it's only at its half so…
Lusi hasn’t been short of offers before or after her illness. It’s her toxic controlling agency who have been sabotaging her at every turn because she wants to leave them.
Do you know this show is my current dopamine. After a day’s of work I go home, stretch out to comfort, and catch up on daily episode. Thinking about it too helps ease the day through thinking of the treat to come. I’m totally into this drama, my happy place.
15. Another great episode. What is sad to me is that she actually did work hard to build her dream career (hosting). On her own she did. Yes the influence of her marriage boosted it faster than normal but her very own merits are suddenly questioned. In earlier episodes she told HM she doesn’t want his help, she wanted to do it on her own. Everything out the door. I can understand the overwhelming weight and her tiredness from it all. The facade, realism, hitting you in the face is indeed tiring. Impeccable acting once again.
So many calling out XY for her lies but neglecting that Haoming initiated it. Both deceived for their own reason. His was calculating with sole selfish wealthy manipulation purposes. He investigated her, tested her, then courted her after she passed the test. Hers was innocent, falling into his moving plan of falling for him. She did and her lies was to keep him by fitting into his circle. Prior to him she was a hard worker building and climbing in her career. She didn’t him, he needed her. SO, her side is redeemable. For the pain he caused her, I want him groveling to win her back.
Everyone are so good in this drama bringing such good characters you hate em you love them. Chan as Haoming is absolutely amazing in this role. Episode 14…wow. Not to confuse characterizations bc at this point Haoming is ruthlessly cold and heartless, true but the portrayal is excellent. Lusi? The ranges of emotions can’t be easy to portray but it’s like looking at ourselves in those moments of betrayal, the raw pain. Her efforts to forge forward and call truce? Sad. Love her resolve more and the cold look. So me. Ha. Love this so much.

Thank you for sharing. I’m with you.
