I am beginning to love this series, for all the reasons the SJW Sex Police are losing their minds over it. :D

The writer would do that because people think weird and untrue thoughts every minute of every day all around the world, and XS is an empathetic, caring soul who would naturally blame himself first in that situation. And thankfully the writer didn't have to check with you to see if he/she was allowed to write whatever the hell they wanted to.

Just finished 7-8. Wow. This series has become so complex and interesting, compared to what I saw early-on. At first I liked the slap-stick and fun use of camera angles but then it seemed to just get boring. A friend recommended I give it another try and I'm so glad I did. This looks to become one of my favorite BLs. A bit disappointed in the lazy tropes of guys being drunk or drugged to move the plot along, and would a VP really risk his entire career and potential jail time by drugging and attempting to rape one of the firm's co-owners?

I wish Mu Ren would gain some weight and I'm not thrilled with his fashion choices, but the show's design team does a great job of making him look exactly like a Yaoii drawing at times. There was a moment he was shot from the side at the foot of some stairs and for a second I thought the visual was a Yaoii illustration. Very cool.

WHATEVER you think SY is "doing" in the scenes where he is sitting on the couch, arms folded, legs crossed, shaking his foot, the fact remains that during those scenes where he is doing that, THAT IS ALL HE IS DOING. He is not flying to the moon, he is not taking a shit, he is not ironing his suit, as far as I can tell he is not using telepathy to communicate with executives who live in your head. Of that, there is no question. None whatsoever.

"No Regrets," it is dark for sure but I don't see the ending as sad, more like interesting and hopeful. It would be a great jump-off to a sequel.

Oh, I have seen the "dark, no words" flick you mention: Sei no Gekiyaku, which I new as "Dangerous Drugs of Sex." Loved it.

Not for me. The "morning after" scene as Kla gives No his version of what happened and demands that No "take responsibility" is one of my favorite scenes in the series.

There is always something that can be done, even if it's just preparing for all these big-shot meetings you go on and on about. Sitting around with your arms folded, your legs crossed and twiddling your feet is a BAD LOOK. I don't think we have seen SD doing that in this series at all. Small world: "Night Flight" is one of my top three Asian gay films. The others are "Eternal Summer" and "No Regrets." I have only watched "Eternal Summer one time because I know that when I watch it again I will be a wreck for at least two days. :D "Lan Yu" is another favorite, but it has a sadistically-cruel and uncalled-for ending similar to that of MODC.

What is the name of the Thai psych horror gay film? I love all of those genres so would like to give it a watch.

It is way off in another direction and I'm not even sure it's accurate to call it a gay themed film, but "A Frozen Flower" just blew me away. I think it's Korean. Where do you live? Your English is amazing.

Actually, I meant my "...needed to be done" comment in jest, but the reply it elicited from you is excellent in its depth and appreciation of the story line. I think it would be a great thing, and a powerful statement against the stigma surrounding mental health care in Asia, if XS made ongoing mental health counseling and treatment a requirement for any reconciliation between him and YJ. No lay individual is qualified to "fix" a loved one's mental health issues on their own, nor should they be asked to do so. It would be like XS attempting to fix YJ's broken leg without going to the hospital.

I watched MODC about a year ago soon after I discovered the universe of BLs and knew nothing about anything, especially that Chinese BLs were notorious for brutally tragic endings to gay love stories. I was caught completely off-guard by that ending. I felt like I'd been punched in the gut AND the face. Sobbed through the rest of what was left of the series after that point and wasn't the same for days. It's an extreme reaction, but I had only just begun to enjoy this world of films and series that spoke to me as a gay man who grew up in the closet and stayed there way too long. I was experiencing intense emotions in reaction to the material because before I had only ever watched straight stories that didn't connect to my heart. I adore the MC in MODC, especially the little goofy one. And the makers clearly set us up for the disaster with all the sweetness and light. and then BOOM. It's when I first came up with the term audience-abuse. I felt traumatized. They did that because they COULD. It fit into nothing that came before in that series. They just simply killed off a beloved character to freak out the audience. How is that not a form of cruelty? I do NOT want puppies and unicorns and candy-cotton cloud endings to my dramas. That would be boring. But it's not as thought gay fiilm audiences get too much of that or something. I'm pissed off again just writing about it.

I still hope they come up with a better re-boot than "it was a dream!" but I'll take what I can get. I'm happy those two actors are getting more work..

I love the idea of the parents having concealed the boy's death and sent him off to an asylum somewhere to keep them apart. Then the other lover finds out and all hell breaks loose and a magical reunion takes place! :D How do I get hired to help write this thing?
