I don’t know ... this series was really good in 2016. Especially after watching Hormones and loveSick, this…
"Problematic." lol Spoken like a true SJW. How are you OK with BookFrame considering how their first night together was spent?

I haven't watched the series yet, but wdym they feel or that they're censored?
I love this silly series, but yeah, the kissing is lame. If it was a straight show they'd be sharing actual light kisses. But because it's gay we can't have nice things.

Totally agree. Way too much time spent on the corporate intrigue crap. Who watches BLs for that sort of thing?
To me it feels like the script has the MC all settled and tucked away with only nauseating sweetness between them now, so we're supposed to care about cyber-theft now or something. They should have dragged out the SD-SY pre-reconciliation drama a lot longer.

what I like about this movie is no drama or evil characters. I liked so much that Ni give up Long Zhe Ling for…
Where did you watch this? Neither of those things happened in the version I saw.

Title Awakening Love Spoiler
This had potential but was pretty bad and then was all the hell over the place. Probably what I should have expected from a Chinese BL of this vintage. I found the two leads appealing but everything was so sublimated and unsaid that it was hard to tell what was going on.

Why would the girl in love with Wen keep after him after being so cruelly rejected over and over, pretty much from the first time they met?

Why WAS Wen so mean to her in the first place? He could have just said "look, I'm not romantically interested, but very much like you as a friend. Let's be BFFs!" Instead he was an asshole she kept coming back for more.

What was up from going from boxing to gangster to sex change to Monk-ism? wtf? I actually thought the sex change plot could be interesting if his friend was completely straight and he figured all that was missing was a vagina.

The skinny/model friend was kind of a bitch and I never felt any great affection from her toward Ling Lang anyway. That little dinner where they announced they were dating was pathetic.

I never felt any multi-directional affection or comaraderie among the five friends either, and yet I think we were supposed to think they'd been a group of good friends for four years.

Overall, lots of missed opportunities and pretty bad. 4 our of 10 stars.

If the boring 2gether could be overhyped like crazy, this is just elementary school level. 2gether was overhyped…
2gether is on my short list of worst BLs ever. ugh

Sam Lin has really pretty eyes. I find it so cute when he looks to the side or when he acts confused. ( ◜‿◝…
I agree about the dad's acting. He is sort of a comical character, especially now that he is losing the game. Love how he slowly took SY's shoes from SD while he was carrying SY on his back. Hilarious.

As for the "dad" problem ... I'm starting to think of him as the devil of the story. To date he is the prototype…
I get the feeling he will slowly come around and before long be claiming it was he who brought the guys together to begin with.
On We Best Love: Fighting Mr. 2nd Apr 2, 2021
I wanted to drop a comment about the production design. I like clean, modern design to a point, but SY's prison/fortress of a house takes it way beyond my comfort zone. I suppose the idea was to portray that he had hardened his heart and become cold, mean and unemotional, and this was to be reflected by the concrete monstrosity he lives in. But his bedroom especially is SO horrible. Just those three square windows cut through the concrete at shoulder height like those you might find in a prison cell. Horrible.

I'm still hoping, for drama's sake, that it will turn out SY is totally gaming SD and will dump him as revenge for the five-year disappearing act, but that seems unlikely. So perhaps the guys will move in together and for contrast's sake abide in a white clapboard seaside cottage with tons of windows, gardens and flowers. :D

I just wonder why the production company isn't willing to invest in a multiple one-hour episode series?

Yeah, this corporate intrigue stuff is pedestrian compared to a good romance/drama.

This would be a lot better if the acting of the father was up to par...
Really...I find his acting to be very good. He's almost to the point where he WANTS to stay mad but he is beginning to weaken toward SD.

He damn well better be ready to give everything after the ridiculous five-year disappearing act he pulled.

I recently joned here. Am I the only that noticed the age of the actor that play "dad" ???He is only 14 years…
I think he LOOKS plenty old enough to BE Shu Yi's dad and that's what matters. Probably grayed his hair and deepened some wrinkles.

I was the Director of Advertising, Store Merchandising and Design and Display for a mid-size, up-scale mens and womens retail clothing chain in the midwest for 15 years. I made a point of NEVER sitting around with my legs crossed doing nothing while everyone else was busy. it's a bad, arrogant look and sets a bad example. There is ALWAYS something that needs doing and I didn't place myself above those I supervised.

If you had a shitty boss who let you do all the work while they took the credit, I'm sorry for you, and I understand that is not an uncommon experience, but I assure you I made a point of NOT doing that to those I supervised. A good supervisor spreads the credit and praise around and NEVER looks like they're doing nothing, especially during a crisis.

"take 5-8 minutes of the 30-minute episode screen time so you can actually SEE how busy he is..."

What does that sentence even mean?

Also from the comments you've left around I get the impression that you're some middle age woman from Alabama?…
Wow. It's always refreshing to watch a full-blown SJW-church lady-prude fully expose themselves like this. Yes, I DO take words literally. Words mean things, did you know that? What "other way" is there to interpret "endless smut?"

You forgot to name even one BL that contains "endless smut."

Also entertaining is how you take umbrage at my "YOUR way" comment and then proceed to explain that YOUR WAY would have been to not make the show. lol And then you say "the RIGHT way." I see...LeeMyCookies alone knows what is right and best for all of the rest of us to see and hear.

Stop watching the show. It is very simple. It is not for you. Go away. Your comments are a great example of why I say people like you actually LOVE these shows in that they allow you to get off on the offending action and then get off AGAIN on your moral, righteous indignation and outrage. We get it. You hate any form of sex that doesn't conform to your strict, puritanical and inhuman standards of what is permissible. IRL sex is messy and full of gray areas and not always easy to put in the black and white categories people like you with limited thinking skills crave so desperately.

A commenter in this thread claims to have a friend who SAID YES to having sex with some dude and then followed through, and now says she was RAPED. That is crazy, down-the-rabbit-hole thinking. A verbal statement of consent is now not enough either. Insane.

Hilarious that you the expert can predict a show's trajectory 1/3 of the way in. Good for you. Why on earth would you keep watching?

I'm still waiting for your explanation of why you made the sexist and classist assumption that I live in Alabama and have a vagina between my legs. I am looking down right now and I can assure you THAT is no vagina.

Wow. All of that to convince me Shu Yi is super-busy? The problem is lousy direction and writing. What I saw on screen conveys almost NONE of what you write above. I got no sense that Shu Yi was wildly busy. A couple of times he tosses orders at other people, and yes, I caught the reference to these exhausting dinners he has to go to, blah blah blah...but there he is sitting on the couch, legs crossed, doing nothing. Curious as to why you feel so strongly about my comment?

Title A Tale of Thousand Stars Spoiler
Hi. Wondering what it was in episode 8 that put you off?
Now that you say that, I remember thinking much the same thing. And now this episode we got the cliche bitch Asian mom sending a kid "abroad" to study at a school they don't want to go to, and the kid going along with it. I'd tell her to shove it. I think Mix redeemed himself with some fine acting in this last episode but up until then I was getting really tired of that same, screwed-up, onion-face, I'm-about-to-cry expression he used so often.
