Episode 9 was so intense emotionally, they did such a good job. I was devastated the whole time.
I agree with you 100% and love how you worded your comment.
Anyone unfamiliar with the series would read "they did such a good job - I was devastated the whole time" and wonder how the heck that could be praise. But it's so true. :)
Six episodes in, and I'm loving it. The only detractor is the Xu Yan character. Her scenes are an ordeal. Whiny and superficial, throwing tantrums to get her way. I just roll my eyes and wait for the focus to turn elsewhere.
It's surprising that such a shallow person would be able to bond with people like Xi Chen and Nan Jia.
As for her boyfriend, I sense that they want us to dismiss Zi Chang as an airheaded gamer with no ambition, but Xu Yan is in no way superior to him. Not a bit. At this point I think he's too good for her.
Yoon Oh: "Stop looking at me and do your job" *hides face in hand*Peach: *smiles*Me: *melting from the cuteness*
... and then of course while Yoon Oh was hiding his face he couldn't resist peeking through his fingers.
I sometimes wonder how much a scene like that is actually scripted vs. being prompted by the director vs. being something improvised by the actors in the moment.
Ending of Ep 6 thoughts... Awww... Poor Nont... Aww Holding hands... EEEK I hope that watch is waterproof.
Many watches are water resistant, which means they can withstand being submerged in water for a certain amount of time but not indefinitely. Being splashed with waves should be no problem.
Ok I totally didn't like how they alternate the scenes between valen and kaitoon with non being alone kabdksns…
Yes! What are they trying to do with the Non character? He only makes Kaitoon look shallow and thoughtless, which isn't a good look for a main lead lol.
The acting is pretty good, but the story is 😬 like tbh what are Valen’s redeeming qualities? He’s still…
I don't think he's spoiled. I think he's afraid. He wants so badly to express his attraction to Kaitoon but he's so used to failure that he doesn't trust that it would go well.
Kaitoon has a major character flaw in standing people up .... not just once, but three times!
And Non has a character flaw in that he doesn't get the message. Maybe he will now. Overall I think it was dumb to incorporate this character into the series. He compromises our perception of Kaitoon to the point that we might believe that Kaitoon is insincere toward Valen as well.
With that out of the way, I like this a lot. For me the series gets better and better. It seems I'm in a vast minority with that opinion, but I like how the series stays true to Valen's character. He is so guarded but trying in his own way to let Kaitoon know that he likes him. What a struggle! This is a guy who grew up feeling unloved. He's dealing with a lifetime's worth of rejection and self-pity. He has a big chip on his shoulder and I think the series does a great job of showing how he is struggling to open up to Kaitoon while at the same time being so fearful of rejection.
I like how Kaitoon is waking up to realizing that Valen is a person with a history and a reason for behaving the way he does.
King and Ice. I'm interested to see where that goes. I appreciate that the series throws these wrenches into the works. There we are, thinking we're going to watch a story arc about King and Peat reconciling in a standard way, and here comes Ice. The age difference is big enough that I wonder if the series will dare to introduce a romantic element to their relationship. It certainly makes me interested to see Part 2.

Disclaimer: I haven't watched yet.

My hunch is that it was one of his fellow students, but that's only because the series has a supporting case of students who we haven't seen yet.
Maybe it's a setup for Peat to discover King in the apartment with the shirtless Ice and flip out.
I was wondering how was King painting the shirtless model when the kid was seated on the couch with the armrest blocking the view of his body?
