Episode 7 proved why so many people love this show. Some might say it was boring, but it showed again why it's…
Oh yes, I think it's great that the head chef at Ming's also loves cooking above all else and therefore wants a fair competition. And that he respects his opponent's artistry so much that he prevents her death. A really great, exciting character!
Oh, I really like the crazy inventor π€ Hopefully we'll see more of him, and of course he'll arrive in time to bring the pot lid π and I could imagine him being honored by the king and becoming a loyal, highly respected subject... I really liked the chaotic group in Wonderland today π€ My theory is that Gong Gil will find out that our king had nothing to do with his sister's death, but maybe Mok Ju did...
Good thing they struck gold with Chae Min's casting. It could've easily gone the opposite way. This kid is blowing…
I am convinced that some things are destiny. And I think that fate brought the role and Chae Min together. I honestly don't think anyone else would have made the role such a success. I mean, I could just watch the king eat the food for hours on end π and I think he exudes a special charm that just suits the character. As you say, the casting was gold. And when you consider that he was only cast shortly before filming started... Chapeau! is all I can say. It's as if fate wanted him to have his breakthrough now and it's very well deserved that they're now scrambling to work with him in Korea. And honestly, I think Yoona and Chae Min bring out the best in each other. It's been a long time since I've enjoyed a KDrama this much. I also think the rest of the cast is great. The only thing I don't like is when people judge Chae Min's relationship and girlfriend now that he's successful...
A Joseon King enjoying schnitzel was not on my bingo card! π€ I really like the show and love how the food is courted here! Honestly, Yoona and Chae Min are a stroke of luck for the show. Eagerly waiting for tonight's episode. π
Don't come after me..π I'm sorry ...I know so many of you are liking this series a lot..but GMMTV did it wrong…
Oh yes, when I saw the cast back then, I thought: wow, wow, wow. Boun, Prem, Boss, Santa, Sammy... When I imagine that Barcode would be in that original cast... wow. Then the darker, more mysterious vibe of the trailer. It was all very much to my taste. So it's a little hard for me to step back from those expectations.... I am happy to see Boun and Prem in a series again though. At the same time, it makes me sad that Boun is not listed among the scriptwriters. I don't think that's an appreciation for Boun, and it gives me the impression that it's very different from the original idea...
No, unfortunately Santa is not in the series. He was replaced due to (as far as I know) scheduling conflicts. But he was adequately replaced by Barcode. It would be even better if we had both Santa and Barcode in the series.
I see Na Ae Joon's heart breaking terribly and I just want to protect him π₯Ί Poor innocent guy, so purely in love, who sees his idol as a saint.... I can feel the pain that awaits him and he doesn't deserve it π’
However, I had the impression in episode 3 that Si Yeol is already falling for him. Even though I got the impression that Si Yeol's relationship with his band member seems to go beyond friendship from his side...
Btw, can someone tell me how tall Kevin is? The difference in height seems quite big and if Kang Min is only 1.88m (he seems more like 1.98m) then Kevin doesn't seem too tall?
Boun worked on the script?! I just know GMMTV had like 98% of influence on the script. I feel like it was meant…
Yes, Boun spent three years writing the script. And I'd like to think Prem worked on it too. That's why I was really waiting for the series. Also because I found the first trailer exciting, because it seemed mysterious and darker.
In my eyes, the series was also designed to be darker/more serious and I think that still shines through in some places... and I think that's also something that can perhaps lead to a certain irritation with the series. At least I sometimes feel like there are two scripts.
Also, if you look at the first GMMTV trailer for Revamp, it seems like the realization of the original idea or a renewal of the original trailer. But now, as you say, it bears the typical GMMTV signature... And if Boun isn't even mentioned, I get the impression that he ceded or had to cede the rights so that the project could perhaps be realized at all. But if he's not mentioned at all, what you wrote in your other comment seems like a plausible theory.
Lol It's amusing some people here policing other people about what to say/what to do and what to not do. This…
Honestly, I'm confused too. I don't know if it's a general trend on MDL. But I notice in some comment sections that you're not even allowed to mention the editing, sound, or anything else, and you can't have a factual discussion without being asked to leave/stop expressing your opinion.
I was even blocked here by someone with whom I had great discussions in other comment sections, just because I questioned some of GMMTV's decisions. It's sad that we're not discussing things with each other anymore, but instead it just ends in bashing, either bashing the series or bashing the MDL users who don't hype everything without asking...
I've had such good experiences engaging in discussions with people who often have completely opposing opinions. I find it very enriching to want to understand other perspectives. But what I've been noticing on MDL lately leaves me a bit perplexed.
Since My Golden Blood never got to have a Second CP, i really hope Revamp does us justice and gives us one.I am…
Uh, and I was thinking, Ciar might fall in love with Pong. He falls in love with the brother of the person he's jealous of, since Punn was chosen by his master. Or an alternative: Jett and Ciar. Both go to extremes and want power regardless of the consequences. A deadly love...
In any case, I think a second couple would be nice too.
I've read rumors that they do interfere. I read somewhere that The Heart Killers was going to be darker, but GMMTV…
I could imagine that. The Heartkillers is the series I enjoyed despite its weaknesses. And for me, one weakness was that, in my eyes, the series didn't know what it wanted to be: a serious, dark series, a comedy, a romance, or a black comedy with romance. Thanks for the info!
i think even those of us who love the show would agree with your points. GMM has tendency to mess things up in…
I'm currently wondering if the shows aren't mature enough for me... Hmm, I think for me it's more that GMMTV has a certain formula that works well, but isn't necessarily outstanding anymore. I think the company sometimes lacks the courage to do things differently. Every now and then, a series pops up (e.g., Memoir of Rati is a new approach that, in my opinion, is very well suited to the four main actors). But often I get the feeling they're playing it safe. The comedy elements are an example of "safety" for me. But they don't bother me personally at all in this series. In this episode, however, I perhaps had the feeling of seeing two different scripts mashed together. One with typical GMMTV style, and one that I assume bears the original style. Perhaps that's the feeling I'm trying to put into words, and I simply hope that Boun wasn't inhibited in his artistic work, but rather supported. And even though I have some criticism of the execution, I like the basic idea of ββthe series and enjoy watching it. For me, though, the series is actually quite enjoyable to watch weekly.

PS: I replied to both of your comments in one...
Honestly, I really like it. I've watched the first 4 episodes now and it's picked me up from the first episode.
I read in the comments that the characters are based on real people. Can anyone tell me the names? I always like reading historical backgrounds....

What I also just noticed is that Boun isn't listed among the screenwriters, neither here nor on IMDB.So that would also fit with what you heard.
