Huh? Why should I give up on a show I've been waiting for a long time? Besides, there are GMMTV shows I like and actors I like. Why shouldn't I be able to watch them and criticize GMMTV? I'm making a distinction here. Besides, I haven't watched many GMMTV shows this year. Two that I really liked, one that I enjoyed despite its flaws, and one or two that I abandoned early. I've given my honest opinion on all of them. Both praise for the execution and criticism. Here, I'd like to cite ThamePo as an example, which I commented on positively. They had great editing, great aesthetic choices in the picture and sound, and a really well-executed script. And now I'm watching the show I've been waiting for years, with actors I really like. There's no reason to stop. I find it a bit strange when, in a film forum where the focus is on exchanging opinions and ideas, I am asked not to watch things just so I can't express my opinion or criticize a company.

After the first two episodes, I think the start was okay. I've lowered my expectations after following the developments at GMMTV over the past year. I think the series unfortunately has problems typical of GMMTV (sound, editing, structure, the inserted sounds), and my impression is that the original script was changed. I hope Boun and Prem had enough say.
That's a thought I've been carrying with me: What and how much was changed? I have the feeling that the original script was darker/more serious. At least, that's what I get here and there. Also, for me, the series so far deviates quite a bit from the GMMTV trailer that was shown at the launch. So I can't help but wonder if it was Boun and Prem's wish for the series to turn out this way.

Honestly, I have to admit that I'm still struggling with the cast changes. Bringing Barcode in was a really good decision, though. The role suits him really well. I would have liked to have seen Santa as well, though. 😅 What I can't get over is the Jett swap. I can't help but imagine Boss in the role, and I miss him. I know these are my personal sensitivities, and all the actors do their best, but Boss has a different aura when it comes to a character in the gray area...

My comment may sound more negative than intended, but I needed to get my thoughts out of my head. I still enjoy watching the show and appreciate Boun's tremendous work. How long have we all waited to see his baby... However, scrolling through the comments here, my fears have come true regarding GMMTV's planning to air two vampire series so close together and air Revamp second. Unfortunately. Revamp, at least, doesn't deserve the comparisons, knowing that Boun worked on the script for many years. But ultimately, it leads back to my original thought: How much influence did GMMTV have?

No. The second season was tied to a shady-looking deal, where, among other things, those who donated a certain amount (I believe it was a cryptocurrency) were allowed to choose the main actors. Neither the director nor the cast knew anything about this. So it looks like there won't be a second season, and if there is, it most likely won't feature the original cast. And if the rumors turn out to be true, that China is tightening its regulations regarding BL and the actors who appear in it, then we definitely won't see Dong Qin again.It's a tragedy. With a second season, the series would have been a huge success. At least internationally.

Just out of interest, how did History 4 score an 8/10 for you? When the story of the second main couple depicts the same emotional and physical abuse? The stepbrother stalks and rapes his love interest and manipulates him into a relationship, all covered up by the stepbrother's mother and he seems to have a lot of mental health issues. What do you think is different between the two series?

Imagine filming this series and getting to eat such amazing food every time on set... Man, that must have been a dream shoot. Especially for Lee Chae Min 😆

No, I don't think it will change history. I could imagine him traveling to modern Korea with FL and, for example, his death being staged, or him being replaced by someone who would then continue history as the history books tell it.

I think it's really good. After a long time, it's a K-drama where I haven't been distracted by other things while watching it.

Let me put it this way: I've seen this kind of rating drop after the first two episodes quite often on MDL... Are people actively downvoting or just sharing their opinion, or is it the MDL algorithm? Who knows. I can only say that I was on the site when the rating was 8.0 and about a minute later it was 7.7. I didn't see any intermediate step, and that personally strikes me as suspicious. My personal opinion is that MDL ratings can only be taken seriously after about half of the episodes, partly because of mass voting and the mysterious two-episode rating drop. You'll see, the rating will soon go up again. Also because only a small number of viewers have rated yet.

With a Nokia 3310 it would still have at least 94% 😂

Oh, I really enjoyed the first two episodes and have the feeling this is going to be a KDrama I can fully enjoy for the first time in a long time. Ah yes, it reminds me of the days of Mr. Queen 😁 I think ML and FL fit their roles really well, and I also really like FL's companion. I would have loved to binge more episodes... I think it's going to be a great romcom! PS: It's another series with so much love for food that I'd love to try the dishes along the way 🤤 But I never thought I'd see nut butter in a KDrama, but I can recommend it to everyone to enjoy 😁

You're interpreting a statement based on the fact that you saw screenshots and you're connecting the two. Screenshots that were designed for future events and not for his current situation. The statement could have been based on other information, for example, that he was cut from a show. Or that his role as the 4th lead was reduced to a guest role, which could therefore easily have been cut out. So that doesn't mean that the OP made a mistake, but rather that you're trying to attribute a mistake to him because you're interpreting things into a sentence that aren't there. If I were you, I wouldn't be so sure that OP got the information from the screenshot.
I don't know if you have any insight into the complexity of his situation. But the fact is, everyone here hopes that he can continue acting in major productions and that he will be successful.

I'm late to the game and just pressed the pause button after 10 minutes of the first episode.

The trailer piqued my interest, and wow, what a start! I love the intro, the setting, and the strong opening.
I have to say, I've had a huge soft spot for the late 60s and 80s since I was a kid, and the rock music of that era (my heart is psychedelic rock) in particular has shaped my basic musical taste. I also have a soft spot for series that immerse me in the history of countries, and now it all comes together in a BL....

Wow! 🤩 Now, in the first 10 minutes of this episode, my expectations for Shine have skyrocketed 😅 I always expect a solid performance from Mile and Apo anyway...

I think we won't have real clarity until September. Apparently, there's no official document on this (yet). However, bianbian explained why it seems plausible. What we do know is that TXN was cut from Happy Saturday and his role in the new series was reduced to a special guest appearance. We'll see if he appears in the show... Otherwise, we can only wait and hope this is fake news. I would be happy about that. Very happy!
